First off - 2020 Jeep Renegade. This vehicle has some of the easiest access to the headlight bulbs of any make and model. Next, the lights did not throw a code. The Jeep recognized them perfectly. Next, HUGE quality improvement over the stock Sylvania halogens. Could not be happier with their performance. Now for the however. What should have been a @ 10 minute install process turned into @ 90 minutes of one frustration after another. Some come from the bulbs, some come from the Jeep and some came from me. I list the following in the hopes that it potentially helps someone else who also has one of those "life lesson" days. Getting to the bulbs was easy enough. What I did not realize for @ 8 minutes on the first was that when I removed the stock light its O Ring remained inside the housing so I could not get the new unit to go all the way in because its O ring was competing with the previous. Once I realized the problem, the new light fit perfectly. It did need a small adjustment to get the LEDs into the vertical position. For anyone attempting this, those screws are small so have the right tool and be careful and patient. Ok, now the light is seated correctly all that is left is to plug it in. Except it did not want to plug in. The pins on the light did not perfectly align with the receptors of the vehicle's housing and no amount of wiggling or swearing would get them to budge. I hesitantly used a flat blade screwdriver to gently coax the pins to straighten out a bit knowing full well I'd be hosed if I over did it. After a few adjustments, the pins went in and I was relieved. Tested the headlight switch and the LEDs worked perfectly. Stuffed the wiring into the housing, put the dust cover on and looked forward to doing the other (driver) side. That soon changed. Again, removing everything was a breeze. This bulb even retained its O ring. So a quick test showed that the bulbs needed to be adjusted two full clicks in either direction to make them vertically align. Small screw driver to the rescue. OK, so now the bulbs are in correctly. No surprise, the pins on this bulb did not want to play nice and just go in. Of course not. So I used the same technique with the flat blade screwdriver. It took a few tries and I thought I had it, but when I pulled out the partially seated pins, the plastic housing inside the vehicle's plug stayed attached to the inside of the bulb's wire connector housing. Now I needed a very small set of tweezers to extract it. I got it out and it did not want to go back into its proper housing (it can only go in one way) but I eventually got it snapped in. As I tried to once again join the two connections, the pins would not align, again. As I pondered my situation, I happened to look down into the headlight housing and see two wires gently swaying in the breeze. The sun was oh so slightly glinting off them in what I interpreted as a laughing wave. Two of the three wires had pulled free from the connection housing. Imagine what Ralphie said when his father knocked all those lug nuts into the snow! It wasn't fudge! So, which one goes in which slot? I do not know and there were no markings to give me a clue. I looked at how each wire had been bent and made my guess and stuffed them in. After a few more tries, I did get the pins to go in. I tested the lights and both were on. Hazah! I placed the wiring into the housing and replaced the dust cover. I checked the lights again and the passenger was lit, but not the driver side. Loose wire? Sure. I tap on the headlight face and the light comes on. Cool. I open and close the door, rock the Jeep and let the hood slam down hard. The light stayed lit. Double Hazah! This is now around 4 PM, but I decided to take it out for a test spin. Drove around a bit, came back, and the driver's side light was not working. Opening it all up, those two connectors were about 2/3 of the way off. I jammed them back in good and tight then got a piece of electrical tape and made sure they would not vibrate or get bounced loose again. So far, so good. And as I wrote about above, they provide fantastic light, are not blinding anyone, and do not trip any warning alarms on the dash. It just wasn't my day for things to go according to plan. But as the great Bugs Bunny once said: "It was a titanic struggle but in the end, clean livin prevailed!" ... show more

  • Brighter than stock, easy to install, good value!
Size: 9 0 0 8
I did quite a bit of research before ordering these headlight bulbs for my 2011 F150. I decided that I wanted to find LED's without a fan so that I wouldn't have to worry about the fan quitting or interfering with my radio. These lights fit the bill even though they aren't advertised as the brightest out there, they are pretty bright for only having a heat dissipation area without a fan. They shipped quick and arrived packaged nicely for protection during shipping. To install in my truck I had to remove the headlight assembly which is easy enough to do. I had seen in other reviews to make sure that the new headlight faced the "3" and "9" clock positions once installed, so when I put the in I noted the orientation before twisting to lock the new light into the headlight assembly. Nothing special, and the whole process took an entire 10 minutes. The new headlight alignment/beam focus was identical to the old and no adjustments were needed for my application. The first night that I had the opportunity to drive using the headlights, it was raining out and I was wondering if it would make it more difficult to tell the difference between the stock halogens and the new led's. I was surprised at how well I could see given that night time driving in the rain is one of my least favorite things to do. The brightness is not overwhelming, but just enough more than the old headlights that I don't feel like I'm struggling to see. Also, so far nobody has "brighted" me while using these headlights, so I would assume that I'm not blinding anybody with them which originally had been a worry about upgrading to led headlights. All in all, for the price I don't think you can go wrong with these headlights. Time will tell the actually longevity of them, but my hopes are now high after being impressed with the quality and brightness! ... show more

  • '08 Dodge Ram needs the "decoder"
Size: 9 0 0 8
I ordered and installed these lights in my Ram a couple of weeks ago. Install isn't hard, but getting them turned into place is a little challenging. This isn't Sealight's problem, it's just accessing the lights. Brightness and color is good. The real fun began a few days after install. I was driving through a dark road in the woods and the lights suddenly went off going down the road. Then one would randomly go on and off they were blinking erratically. I flicked on the high-beams, which luckily, seem to not flicker or blink. So I wasn't left in the dark too long. I remembered a page that came with them that said to contact Sealight for a "decoder" if there were any issues. I contacted them via email and they shipped me a pair about a week later. With the decoders (which appear to be just a couple of inline resistors that add 50W of load) they work well again. I just had to drive around using only my high-beams for a week. So, please, test them out for at least 30 minutes before you have to rely on them. You don't want to be caught in the dark. ... show more

  • Huge upgrade Huge upgrade
Size: L2S 9005
I bought these lights for my 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and upon installing them, an error appeared on my dashboard display (which you can see in the photos). Afterward, I contacted the Sealight team; I explained the situation, and they sent me some resistors (free of charge) for my lights. These resolved the error I was getting, and now the lights work perfectly. It is definitely a huge upgrade, and the difference is very huge when driving at night. ... show more

  • EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING
Size: 9 0 0 8
I am very disappointed with the brightness, lighting distance, width of distribution and quality of light pattern. >>>INSTALLATION & TESTING POSITION <<< •Installation was easy • Fitment was perfect • The instructions didn’t state which position the bulbs should be in.. This meant trial and error was required **POSITION OF BULB for INSTALLATION** • I installed the bulbs two separate times In two positions. Each position was tested separately to see if there was different and or quality of illumination. ****PositionTest**** A- with short light bar on bottom B- with longer light bar on bottom There was a slight difference in the distance and but width distribution of lighting was still horrible or nonexistent. Overall , neither position had adequate light for decent night illumination. ~~Neither position improved the visibility for driver. Both were equally poor. ***OVER ALL REVIEW *** • BRIGH LIGHT SWITH POSITION: >excellent distance and width of lighting. >>Unfortunately, we cannot drive with our bright lights on constantly. >width of the light patter is extremely narrow and does not illuminate speed limit signs, pavement lane reflectors and all other reflective road signs did not reflect during night testing. I am Very UNHAPPY with this product. **WHERE WAS LIGHTS TESTED*** I live in the city and testing was done in city as well as areas without street lights or traffic. >>>>>>TESTING OUTCOME>>>>>> • lights would barely light up the street signs and road markers. Did not cause reflection to occur. • Did not illuminate reflective road stripes speed limit signs , deer crossing signs and reflective side barrier bars. • Following behind a car at two 2 car lengths, approximately 20’ feet away, I could not see the reflective car tags on car in-front of me , and the car itself was extremely difficult to see . • These Headlights have almost no illumination width to them. Ie. When making Left or Right turns there was ZERO Illumination on curb or sidewalk! • Bulbs do not meet the standards of the manufacturer details. In fact, there’s a huge discrepancy in the actual lighting and the manufacture written and visual descriptions of the bulbs. ****OVERVIEW**** • Does not improve visibility • Visibility width is terrible • Light pattern is poor • High Beam is very good yet still zero width illumination. In conclusion : I was extremely disappointed with the performance and functionality ‘ n T noo no of these bulbs and will seek an alternative product. ... show more
