  • Great backup drive, not quite as fast as it could be
Great deal, even better when I bought it at $380; last I checked it was over $400. I'm using this drive for cold backups of my other nine drives, which is something like what any layman considering this drive is looking to use it for. For my use case the actual performance is unimportant other than that writes are fast, but still 50MB/s slower sustained than the other enterprise Exos I have. The drive is engineered overkill for simple file storage, but I haven't used it with heavier loads. I haven't used it long enough (about a month) to evaluate longevity. Numbers: CrystalDiskMark (MB/s) 78% full at 34C Seq1m / q8t1: 181.19 / 180.35 Seq1m / q1t1: 181.61 / 178.10 Rnd4k / q32t1: 2.95 / 1.05 Rnd4k / q1t1: 1.17 / 0.86 Curiously low sequentials, on par with a 5640RPM CMR drive on an enterprise drive filled to equal capacity. Good overall. Temps great for an enterprise drive at consumer workloads. Owned: about a month with no issue ... show more

  • Worked fine on QNAP TS-464
Bought 4 of these to upgrade my storage capacity on my QNAP TS-464. Despite another review saying that they wouldn't work, I decided to give it a shot and if they didn't work use another enclosure if they didn't work there. However, they were identified perfectly fine, right away. I'm currently re-syncing, which is taking quite a while, but that's to be expected with this size of storage. I don't have much time on them so far, but they've passed all the tests and are reporting fine. I was running in raid 10 before and will continue to with these drives, although given how smoothly everything has gone, I don't expect them to have any latent issues. ... show more

  • Great price, speed, size and reliability.
Purchased Seagate 26 TB, Amazon Recertified, disk drive. Power on hours: <20. 50. 'CrystalDiskInfo' image included. I'm very happy with my previous purchase of a Seagate 22 TB, Amazon Recertified disk drive, which now has 12,661 hours I put on it. 'CrystalDiskInfo' image included. (looks like they're running a bit warm currently) ... show more

  • 26 TB Seagate Exos Recertified Drive
Very spacious hard drive, technically only has 23.6 tb due to the way the manufacturer classifies a terabyte. Still 26,000,000,000 bytes though. 🤷♂️ idk if it can be siad for everyone, but my drive is near dead silent. The hdd runs around 750mbps max read/write speed. The thing weighs about 3 pounds lol. ... show more

  • Very happy with my recertified drive
I probably got lucky but my drive arrived with only 96 hours of power on time and very low reads and writes. I was a little skeptical buying a recertified drive since I have only gone with new before this, but I'm glad I went this route and saved some money. The drive also comes with a 5 year warranty from ServerPartsDeals so that also helped with my choice. I'll update this if I have any issues, but so far so good. ... show more

  • Buyers Beware! They don't work on "consumer" qnap
Absolutely useless in a qnap Nas due to the controller not being able to recognize the new drives. I had a bunch of 24tb drives and bought this thinking Seagate wouldn't do something stupid like this. And there is no vendor warning about this not working with consumer products. For clarity I have a QNAP TS 873a and this absolutely will not detect the drive. It's a hardware limitation. And a silent "upgrade". Anyone that wants to use Seagate larger drives is going to need a new drive controller or in the case with qnap...or probably synology a new Nas. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Brought 3 drives, two of them have a few tens of reallocated sectors, one of them has 100. Not terrible but also not a great place to start when getting a drive, even if refurbished. The price point is attractive, though! Getting around 250MBps speeds & they have a fair bit of knocking sound.
