I had the typical Intel CPU retainer on my MB which, with research, would give you unequal pressure on the chipset resulting in higher CPU temps. For those with the 13700 series, we are all struggling to keep the temps down to respectable numbers. Not only did this get rid of the standard CPU retainer, but it looks and performs much better. Pros: Installation was a breeze. Look at GamersNexus YouTube video for installation so you create equal pressure when tightening down. Temps are brought down as of now. I’m still verifying that with extensive use so I’m not providing initial temp numbers. Quality is very good. I got the black to match my MB. Seems to be CNC machine metal. Cons: None as of now. This is such a nice way to install a CPU. One day before the build I saw this and reviews that there are temperature issues with Gen 12 CPUs bracket on motherboards. I however did not have any heating issue, because I had not built anything at that time. But decided to get this because it looks like a neater solution. It is. Also no heating issues. Fitted perfectly on ASUS 790m prime pro MB. I actually searched for the same type of bracket device for 1155 for my other two computers but could not find any. This is a much better way to hold a CPU in place. The dimensions are very precise and do not get i the way of anything. See online video instructions from multiple sources and see manufacturer instructions, which are decent. ... show more

Completely fixes any chance of a CPU sag with Intel 1700 series processors. Totally simple to install, the quality is excellent, it looks good and it lowered my CPU temps by a few degrees. It is well worth investing in this addition for your 1700 CPU. Wish this was available for all boards/CPUs.

This thing just works. I installed it the same day I got it, after using my pc gaming for a while, and I noticed an immediate difference. Before installation, my 13900k was getting 65-80 degrees in the gaming session. That’s with undervolting and disabling E Cores! In the same day ,just hours later I was getting 57-70 degrees consistently while gaming, which is what I do most of the time. My idle temps went from 41-50 down to 39-45 degrees. All cooled by a deepcool lt720. The build quality was great and fits my motherboard and cpu perfectly. The installation was simple and took me 20 minutes and that’s with toddlers pulling me away from the installation, so it’s extremely simple. Someone with no distractions could get it done in less time. Just be sure to work in a pattern when tightening the screws. Start top left, bottom right, bottom left, top right and cross from there turning in 90 degree turns slowly until you get resistance. This lowers all corners of the frame evenly to ensure the bracket is level. Watch Gamer Nexus video on the bracket for better installation instructions and how it compares to thermal Grizzly contact frame. Hint, this one’s on par if not better. In short. It work well and is easy to install. Was able to lower my 13900k/4080 rig down by 6-11 degrees. I find these are a little better to use then the Thermal Grizzly version. These seem to be just the tiniest bit more flush with the CPU lid then the TG versions. My only wish is that they came with a set of 4 of the screws for the socket but they do work well with the screws already on the socket lock mechanism. Ironically I do not use there thermal paste though as I will always use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, lol!!! So i cant rate that ... show more

Never used my 14700k without this so I can’t say if it improves thermals but it definitely isn’t impacting performance negatively. Only using a 240mm kraken and temps are where they should be.
