I bought a 6tb Seagate HDD from this seller. When I got it and installed it, I noticed when it was just sitting and not being used it would make a lite grinding noise like it was reading or writing. But I had the exact same HDD only a 4tb, and that one was very quiet. So I was a bit hesitant to put more data on this one. So I texted the support number that was on a paper in the box. Within minutes, the person verified the serial number and my order number with me and told me they would send out a replacement right away. Well, I got my replacement and it is working like a champ. So quiet and actually faster than the previous one. So I am gonna say that it was in fact defective or maybe damaged in shipping. And yes, it was a new HDD. Got it a Day Early (Thanks Amazon Prime). Been in the PC and running for the better part of 2 weeks now, works fine, been using it to store many of my steam games and hosting a game server off of. 10/10 probably will buy two more in a year when the regular game size is 250 GBs per game, since we dont know how to compress games or remove useless files anymore. ... show more
