Description

The Sea to Summit Ether Light XT Extreme Cold-Weather Insulated Air Mattress is an extra-thick and extra-warm 4-season sleeping pad for winter backpacking and camping. Its Air Sprung Cell construction mimics a spring mattress, maintaining more body contact area and even dispersion of pressure for restful backcountry slumber. At 4 inches thick, the sleeping pad features a single-layer design with fully-insulated flexible loops, providing a plush, warm sleeping surface. The multi-function reversible valve allows for fast and easy inflation—with the integrated Airstream Pumpsack which inflates the pad in just a few breaths—one-way deflation for quick packup, and fine-tuning of air pressure for a good night’s sleep. The insulated pad features Thermolite insulation which lofts up inside the Air Sprung Cells to prevent convective heat loss to the cold ground, as well as Exkin Platinum reflective fabric which radiates heat back during sleep (R-Value of 6.2—the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). Non-slip 30D/40D nylon face fabric is durable and quiet. Outstanding sleeping pad - I had no idea the difference an insulated sleeping pad would make until trying this one. The pad is super compact and lightweight, the bag itself turns into an inflation device that makes it much easier to blow up this pad. I have slept on it a total of 10 nights both on the hard rocky ground as well as 3 nights on top of a cot, both of which worked fantastic. I used a mummy sleeping bag as well as a sleeping quilt some of the other nights and remained comfortable and warm - just a minor amount of slipping but nothing significant and nothing a strap system couldn't solve if it was a big concern to you. I am 6'4" and 220lbs and this kept me from hanging off the top or bottom at all times which can be hard to find something this lightweight in dimensions that work for tall folks. The inflation port is on the bottom side of the head against the ground, so when you are sleeping you don't need to worry about it popping open and leaking air. The pad feels well build, durable, and comes with a small patch repair kit which is a nice touch since things happen while camping. Absolutely will buy from Sea To Summit again, they have great durability and quality products that seem like they will last many camping trips. ... show more

Retains air very well and fluctuates depending on temperature obviously. Thickness works well for me, but I have also found I’m comfortable on pretty much anything. It packs smaller than most pads. I highly recommend!!

Highly recommended for anyone because it’s long and wide enough to side sleep in the fetal position without your hips falling off pad. Easy to inflate and deflate, small package to carry on a backpack, easy to dust off and clean after sleeping on the ground. It held up to the extremely cold temperature I had to sleep in. I used it with my own extreme cold down sleeping bag and I was very comfortable. I got it on sale, but if I paid full price it’s worth every penny. ... show more

Very comfortable at four inches thick,even though not the warmest and lightest like the thermarest Neo air Xtherm. I was hoping they would have the rectangular version with the temperature rating of the women's version temperature rating, which is a tapered sleeping pad, however the temperature rating of this pad is slightly lower. Not a fan of tapered sleeping pads as they are too narrow and I roll off easily. Another thing I dislike about this pad is that, it is very noisy when you are turning on it. I purchased a sea to summit Aeros Ultralight regular pillow and it is punctured and I used the 3m included patch kit for the sleeping bag to patch it and it still keeps deflating, so that was a waste of $40.00 and it was not the most comfortable pillow,as it keeps sliding around and has no back straps to hold it still in place on the pad. The pillow lock feature on the back of the pillow doesn't work well either, so I will be returning it. ... show more

Easy fill... Comfortable... Relatively light weight considering the R value. Getting 4 stars because of the packing size. It's freakin huge. Lol. Still... For the comfort and R value... Worth it. I'd buy it again.

This is the most comfortable blow-up sleeping pad I've ever used. I alternate between back sleeping and side sleeping, and it's very comfortable for both. Plus it kept me warm from the ground on a 29°F night. (Haven't tested it colder yet.)

This is the most comfortable pad in this R-value range, arms do not fall asleep like with horizontal baffles. No issues, no complaints. Anyone who says they got cold on this pad did not follow instructions. This pad must be fully inflated and firm to get the full R-value. Battery pumps do not fully fill pads, so as full as your pump got it is not full enough. Finish with the included pump sack to get it firm without introducing moisture. If you can't sleep comfortably on a firm pad, consider other models. ... show more
