I've been using this product for many, many years, both the 3M brand and others. After reading some of the poor reviews, one things stands out... No one mentions CLEANING the surfaces they want the tape to stick to! This is IMPERATIVE!! Use alcohol, lacquer thinner, acetone, contact cleaner, whatever. Everything develops a thin layer of dust on it, and brand new items, if metal may have a film of oil or some other lubricant on it, and brand new plastics will most certainly have remnants of a mold release agent on them. Guess what the mold release agent is designed for... making sure the plastic doesn't stick to the mold!! Clean your surfaces thoroughly, and you'll be surprised!!

I was shocked when it got here. I got the extreme 400 inches because it was so good when i bought the 10 pound max last time i loved it, even though my only gripe would have been the thickness, this version listed here is somewhere around half as thick. I use this stuff as much as possible. Down to using the last .5 inch last week. Went to buy a replacement and this huge roll fit the bill. Here's a hint if you're like me and HATE getting 'gunk' stuck to the sides of rolls of very strong tape. Use a good cling wrap to protect it. Roll out enough to cover the whole roll on its side. take a new blade from a razor knife and go around it to trim the extra off. As you use the roll it will need to be trimmed of course, but during the life of the roll it will be just like new on the sides, and since you're using cling wrap it doesn't shred as it comes off. I used to do it with masking tape but you have to use a lot, and I found cling wrap that has a slightly sticky side (I use glad press-n-seal) has a slightly sticky side on the bottom as you roll it out to help seal it around a bowl or whatever you use that stuff for. I did make the mistake once of leaving a roll out in the garage. i live in phx and it got to 120 degrees here, and it was 125 in the garage. that long stretch melted everything but it still looked usable. only problem was it seemed to melt the glue to the red strip on top making it nearly impossible to get started. anyway, I'm sure i'm the only one dumb enough to leave in a really hot environment, but i can't stand rolls of tape getting hair and dirt all over the side, so cling wrap solves it for me. This tape is fantastic, and it simply does what it says it does

These stickers are really sticky with a capital S! Just be sure your placement is accurate, so you aren't faced with the job of removing them if you messed up. I used them to secure some framed prints in my nautical themed bathroom. Well, the first 2 turned out fine. But the second pair looked as if my ship had sailed through some rough waters. LOL!!! I thought of leaving them that way, just for a humorous conversation starter, but I had to look at them every time I used the potty from the opposite wall....so NOPE! Do over! I was able to remove them, but some paint peeled along with it. Oh well! At least it's covered up and secured so nobody will know. It looks a heck of a lot better than the builder's "OK" that bled through the paint. LOL! Four years later, I still wonder what was "OK". ;) All my nautical adventures aside.....the stickers work, possibly better than intended. :)

I purchased this tape to apply radiant barrier to the inside of my garage door. When the setting sun hits the door my garage heats up to 100 degrees. I have measured the temperature of the door at 120 degrees. I had applied the radiant barrier previously with outdoor double-sided carpet tape but the tape could not withstand the heat and it simply lets go and the radiant barrier falls off. The Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape easily withstands the heat and holds the radiant barrier in place, which keeps the temperature in the garage down to 80 degrees. The Scotch tape has been in place for a month, I have checked it daily and have not found any place where the tape has failed.

We typically use this double sided tape for mounting fire alarms in our properties. It works well, sticks well and once stuck- doesn't fall off. However, it is not made for temporary items- it will likely peel the paint if it is taken down. So make sure you have the item where you want it before applying the tape. I've used this tape on lots of products and while it is a more expensive product- I don't have to worry- its truly a stick it and forget it tape.

Let me start off by saying, I live in Florida. And those who know, know that the Florida sun can be unforgiving especially when it comes to the inside of your car. It can turn your car into the devils armpit for real. When I first got my dashcam installed, they put a bad type of rape on to adhere it to the windshield and because of the heat it just kept popping off and what good is a dangling dashcam? I looked on Amazon and found this tape but it had no reviews saying anything about dashcams so I was iffy. I'm glad I got it tho because it's been 3 months now and it still stuck to my windshield!

This stuff is AWESOME. It's almost like a roll of mastic. Be careful on smooth stuff, like sticking down set top boxes and AV equipment near your TV - a little goes a long way. If you use too much and you want to remove it, it requires cutting it away with a long thin knife inserted between the thing and the surface. Which works, but it is kind of a pain (literally for me, I cut myself on a kitchen knife trying to get the mastic off it when I was done.) It stays flexible and can be "rolled off" what you applied it to with some effort and won't damage surface if it's durable (like I got it off a Roku, an apple TV, and a couple power strips I put it on.)
