  • Great solution to LEDs without a dimming capability.
Color: beige and brown
This tape is incredibly useful in solving specific problems with LEDs. It’s reasonably priced, making it a great option for those who have LEDs that can’t be dimmed but want to reduce glare or diffuse/dim light. While it may not have been originally designed for this purpose, it certainly works and is about the size of most LED strips. Other fabric tapes may perform similarly, but this pack of white and brown offers some great options. The tape appears to be well-made, with a good thickness and a strong adhesive that sticks solidly to surfaces. I’ve had this tape on LED strips for several weeks without any issues. It’s also easy to remove and doesn’t leave any residue. I used this tape to dim the LEDs inside the cup holders of our media room chairs. For some reason, our really nice chairs lack the ability to dim the LEDs, which quickly becomes an issue in a dark media room with a projector. I was able to cut small squares of the brown tape and place them directly on top of the micro LEDs inside and behind the metal cupholder housing. I stacked layers until I achieved the desired amount of dimming. Now, we can leave the cup holder lights on during a movie without the annoying glare. You can see this in one of my pictures, but the camera makes it look brighter than it actually is. I also provided a couple of pictures of an LED strip covered with both of these tapes to illustrate the difference. This product is simple to use and worked well for me. The price is also significantly lower than replacing LEDs, so if you have LEDs that can’t be dimmed but want to reduce brightness, give this a try. ... show more

  • Doesn’t work
Color: beige
Doesn’t do really anything it says it does besides dim the lights and make them more yellow. Even putting a second strip down just dims the lights but doesn’t diffuse any of the LEDs at all. I ended up just throwing this away.

  • Makes Too-Bright LED Lighting More Pleasant!
Color: beige and brown
LED lights are great for energy efficiency and brightness, but sometimes they can be too bright or too blue-toned. This tape is the perfect inexpensive solution! The beige tape tones down the glare slightly, and the brown makes white light appear warm and slightly dimmer. I also like to cut a small square or use a hole punch to create a small circle for those incredibly bright and annoying blue or white LEDs found on many cable and streaming devices, as well as power strips. I still want to see when the device is on, but I do not want my sleep disrupted with a laser-bright pinpoint light. Manufacturers of all electronics should offer an option to turn all display lights off or have a very dim, non-disruptive sleep mode. But so few do. You can also double or triple-layer the tape to adjust the light to your preference. ... show more

  • Finally, a Solution for LEDs That Think They’re Stadium Spotlights
Color: beige and brown
Who knew a roll of tape could be the hero my retinas needed? My LED strips were basically impersonating a UFO abduction scene until this magical dimming tape came along. The beige version softens the glare just enough to stop my neighbors from assuming I’m signaling aliens, while the brown turns harsh white light into something resembling actual warmth—like a cozy campfire, minus the smoke alarm drama. This Tape Should Come With Every LED Purchase (And an Apology From Light Manufacturers) The adhesive walks the perfect line between "stays put" and "won’t leave a crime-scene residue," though I do wish the tape was wider (and that its subtle grid texture didn’t make me feel like I’m applying tiny window screens to my lights). Still, for the price, it’s cheaper than therapy for my light-induced rage. ... show more

  • Great product if you need to tone down some lights!
Color: beige and brown
This tape works well. I actually wasn't aware of this product until I saw it on Amazon. I actually have 3 LED shop lights that are crazy bright and I wanted to tone them down. I was using a green painters tape, but I love that this is white so there isnt any weird color effects. It works great, and is much better than the painters tape I was using. I would definitely get it again. ... show more

  • Ineffective in Results
Color: beige
I was so excited about these. But they do not filter out the LED diode enough to make them worth the purchase. Even when wrapping the element twice. It was not at all able to camouflage or filter. Do not recommend.

  • Great for diffusing LED strips
Color: beige and brown
Great solution to dim LED strips and other light sources that don't have enough diffusion built in, and cause either uneven lighting or glare. This is a great solution and works well, just need to apply it slowly and carefully to get everything lined up and looking neat. Seems to stick fine so far. The tape is pretty durable and seems like it will last for a long time, being thick enough and having good adhesion. Overall this is a good value if you need to diffuse an LED strip. ... show more

  • Easy and cheaper than using a full channel
Color: beige and brown
This LED masking tape works great. It tones down and diffuses the LEDs, making for a much more pleasant experience. While it can't completely eliminate the dot, dot, dot effect, the tape helps a lot. Plus, it's so much easier and cheaper than using a full channel-type diffuser. The white version lets through almost all the light, cutting out only about 10% or so. The brown tape reduces the light more, about 30% or so. For me, this really worked out well when adding 3 short lengths of LEDs to a wooden bookcase. The tape not only diffuses the light, it also helps keep the strip from twisting. It makes the cheap LED strips look like a much more refined (and pricey) solution. ... show more
