I bought this tape dispenser, because I sew a lot, using printed PDF patterns that need to be taped together. I go through a lot of tape. This was a good value for how much tape is included. It also makes it a lot easier to tape my patterns together, because I can cut tape pieces with one hand while holding the pattern together with the other. I purchased this because it's Scotch and usually Scotch is the best tape. Unfortunately, shortly after beginning my first roll, it began peeling and piecing on the tape dispenser, ripping itself apart. I spent time trying to find the end, fixing it all back up and starting again. Same thing. I thought it might just be the roll and I didn't have time to keep repeeling and fixing it, so I opened box 2. Same thing. How disappointing. It is hard not to like this classic. This tape and dispenser have become an icon in American homes and businesses. Just hang on to the core that holds the tape in place. That is about the only falure experienced in this workhorse. I must have had at least a dozen of these. Usually after a move and in the unpacking phase there it is. OK, I'm writing a review about tape. LOL. I have been using this for about two years and it's great. I love that you get so much tape with the dispenser. I haven't run out yet! I had been using it on my order desk, but just got the following tape dispenser from Amazon, which also includes a holder for packing tape! I'm telling you, this is amazing! If you haven't seen this, check it out. I am constantly needing a piece (or two) of scotch tape, After running out of it I decided to finally buy a six roll pack. I didn't know until I searched, that for the same price as the tape itself, I could also get a heavy-duty dispenser as well. I've already to have an opportunity to use the dispenser, which works MUCH better than the tiny, light-weight dispensers that come with a single roll. It stays put while you use it which helps me a lot, being the clutz that I am! I personally prefer Scotch's Magic Tape over their other tapes, and I prefer the 3/4 width over the 1/2 inch width.     • Finally enough tape
My 6 year old granddaughter is really in to making paper "art" and this requires a LOT of tape. Even more was wasted from her trying to use the individual dispensers because she couldn't control them. So now I can keep tape available on my desk and she has a good supply on her art table.
