I like this tape dispenser. The price is reasonable, the dispenser is sturdy, not too heavy or light. My favorite feature is the part that holds the tape. I forgot what its called, but it is attached to the base on the end of a lever, so it's impossible to lose it. The tape just slides in and it's locked into place. I don't know offhand if it comes in anything other than black, but it's a good purchase in my opinion. ... show more

I had to replace a very heavy marble tape dispenser and decided to try the Scotch Desktop Tape Dispenser. I had zero hope it would stay put as nicely as my original dispenser. I thought this would 'get me by' until I was able to find another hefty dispenser. I was quite surprised to find this is working pretty close to what I'm used to. It hasn't slipped or moved around at all for my general, everyday purposes. I craft a lot and it hasn't budged at all. My rotten 17lb cat stares deep into my eyes as he unsuccessfully tries to knock it off the table. I did find it laying on the floor one time but I'm convinced that was the work of a poltergeist. Pros: Doesn't slip, tip or jiggle. The tape holding mechanism is built in, no more losing the small plastic mechanism of yesteryear. It dropped on it's side from several feet and it didn't have any damage. Cons: Susceptible to poltergeist activity and/or large naughty cats. If you ever used the Scotch brand tape dispenser you know how would it feels. It has rubber footing on the bottom to prevent it from moving and heavy enough to pull the tape with one hand without it moving. It is very solid and easy to use. It shows that it comes with one roll of tape, but it did not. It wasn't a big deal to me because I had extra but just heads up if you are planning to order this thinking you are good to go. You need to order the tape as well. ... show more
