  • Great Hiking Boots
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Walnut
I've been wearing a pair of low-cut Merrill walking/hiking shoes for ten years as a replacement for a pair of leather Vasques. The Vasque shoes were redesigned and increased in price so I found an alternative. I need wide shoes which many hiking boots don't come in. The hiking boots look and fit just like their low cuts. I really like them. They're not water-proof which is ok with me. Other than rubber boots I've never had a pair of walking/hiking shoes that were waterproof, despite what they might say. I generally get three years out of a pair even though I walk quite a bit everyday. The Vibram soles are incredibly durable. ... show more

  • Best Hiking Boots I’ve Owned
Size: 11 Wide Color: Walnut
Perfect fit. Great ankle support and plenty of room in the toe box. Vibran soles make rocky trails nice and smooth. Laces stayed tied. I walked for hours in these boots and while they’re warm, they remained comfortable at 75-80(F) temperature. I buy good good socks so they may have contributed to the overall comfort level. At this price point, $90, these boots are 50-60% less than Hokas and other pricey brands. This is a no-brainer if you’re looked for affordable, quality boots. BTW, for what it’s worth, I’m not a paid shill like many writing positive reviews. When a product is really good or really bad, I’ll take the time to post. ... show more

  • Very comfortable and held up well
Size: 15 Color: Granite
These were used on a canoe trip in the boundary waters. For over a week these were used for portaging and with entry into the canoe. They were wet for the entire week and held up extremely well. They were very comfortable while walking on a portage I’d recommend them.

  • 200 miles plus
Size: 13 Color: Granite
Excellent hiking boot. Over 200 miles of hiking on everything from jagged rock, flat rock, hard and soft pack. Very little wear on sole. Slippery on wet rock, but with a sole this hard and sturdy that is to be expected. Laces and fabric in great condition after many miles. I have rolled my ankle a few times on uneven rocks but there is enough support that there have been no injuries. I expect to get another 200 miles plus with no issues ... show more

  • Freedom from my ORTHOTIC LINERS
Size: 8.5 Color: Granite
For many years I have had to wear doctor prescribed orthotic inserts. I tried wearing them in my new Moab by Merrell boot. They did not fit the boot quite. I was happy with them, but still, I thought I might try the very high quality insert that came with the boot. Please don't say that the Moab inserts are not good quality. This is a disservice to Merrell. It is of a different build than most of you are used to. But it is very like a professionally made doctor ordered orthotic. Not quite, but of that same order. On with the story. I did try the Moab inserts. I put my orthotic pair from the doctor into the older street shoes I have, and I have not worn anything but my GREAT Moab boots since...except the time I had to go to a funeral...and I was tempted to wear them then! Great boot with a great insert...at least for my feet. I don't know how well they will wear...longevity, etc. But I will buy these boots again and again, as long as they make them with this last and orthotic insert. I am not kidding at all. For my feet I have never found their equal. Period! ... show more

  • One of the Best out there
Size: 10 Color: Walnut
Almost no breaking in required and they were comfy right out of the gate. Used these to do a lot of wet portages on my canoe trip and they worked great. These boots would also be great in dryer climate hikes because of the breathable mesh. Probably one of the best hiking boots you can get for your buck. ... show more

  • These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn!
Size: 13 Wide Color: Black Night
And my custom orthopedics fit inside perfectly (as they should as they are custom made). I can stand up in a kitchen all day without paying the price, and mow the yard (walking), and walk forever without pain afterwards or the next couple of days. This is my third pair. I keep swapping pairs. I did not remember ordering the black model but am glad I got them because they are a little dressier. ... show more

  • Lightweight, cool hiking boot
Size: 9 Color: Granite
This boot is surprisingly light weight. I also opted for the non-waterproof version for summer hiking. I can also wear thicker socks for winter hikes although I do have a pair of winter hiking boots as well. The way this boot keeps your feet cool (in comparison to many other boots - especially GTX boots such as the waterproof version of this boot) is great. I did wear it when hiking through Carrizo Plain National Monument, which is ridiculously dusty, and surprisingly my socks weren't saturated in dust. Definitely won't keep out as much dirt as waterproof variants but that was a pleasant surprise. In the end, you really have to try a shoe on to know if it's for you fit wise, but what I've added in this review should be common across each person who gives this boot a try. ... show more
