I think these are the best commuter tires on the market. I used my last pair for over 5 years, and put several thousand miles on them before they wore out. They work great in rain/snow (I live in Seattle) and are fairly resistant to puncture. Well worth the money.

Good choice for me so far. Ride about 10 miles 5 times per week, mostly paved surfaces in southern Florida. Have had my share of pin hole leaks in tubes but so far this tire is robust enough not have had a flat, but still a smooth ride.

I've read that Schwalbe tires are the best, but I've always shied away from them because I am a cheapskate! However, having grown tired of going through two sets of tires a year, and reading a review of someone who rode cross country without even rotating their Schwalbe Marathon tires, I thought I'd give them a shot. Six months and 1500 miles later, I'm sold. There is no noticeable tread wear, whereas I would have already rotated tires on lesser brands by now, to try to extend their life. I rode all winter long on roads that were often covered with cinders and gravel, and I never fell like I didn't have a good grip on the road. Bottom line: you can purchase a decent tire for less money, but you will spend more in the (not so) long run because you will be replacing them 2-3 times more often. When these eventually wear out, I will have no problem getting another pair of Schwalbes! ... show more

Years ago I replaced my stock Bontrager tires because they were prone to flats and wore extremely quickly. The tires I chose to replace them were Schwalbe Marathon 700x38. I've since purchased two more sets of these tires (700x25 and 700x32) and I have yet to experience a flat with any of the six tires even after 4000+ miles of riding. They may not be the fastest or lightest tires on the planet but unless you are literally racing this makes no real world difference. I occasionally pass cyclists on the side of the road changing flats. I usually stop and offer to help, but I'm happy my tires have never left me in this predicament. After all, I have limited time and I'm out there to ride, not change tubes. If a slight speed penalty is the price for uninterrupted rides then I'm all in. ... show more

I bought a pair of these tires to replace the original equipment tires on my Trek 7.3 hybrid bike. I installed the first new one on the front after rotating the original front tire to the back, Yesterday I was examining the tread as I was riding with now over 750 miles on it and the mold seam running down the center of the tread is still not completely worn away. At this rate I expect to get far in excess of the 3000 miles I got on the original tires. The ride on this tire is exceptional and the cornering is very sure-footed. The molded-in reflex sidewall is nearly concentric with the rim, so it looks pretty good. The original front (now rear) tire is almost worn out, so I'll soon be able to tell if there's any difference having two of these Schwalbe Marathons installed at the same time. I'll report any significant findings with an update. ... show more

    • Puncture resistant doesn’t mean puncture proof.

But boy is it ever puncture resistant. And boy will your thumbs curse these tires trying to get them over the bead of your rims. But when it’s done, it’s almost reliable enough for you to consider leaving your spare tubes behind. Don’t leave your spare tubes behind.

Love these tires. Not much more to say. Good grip and they roll into turns very smoothly--they just feel good, all around. I got the 32's and you can run them at 65psi which is cushy but still decently fast. Just this morning I got run off a multi-use path by a maintenance pickup truck. Came around a corner at 20mph or so and there he was. I eased off the pavement into the gravel without hesitation. That's why I like 32s for commuting--whether it's the odd truck or dogs on leashes spread across the path, you can hit the dirt if you need to. They are also supposed to be bombproof when it comes to flats. ... show more
