This is my second purchase of the Schmecke wine fridge. The first one was defective and didn’t cool right out of the box. When I called customer service via the phone number provided, someone actually answered and they were in the United States. The representative was very helpful and confirmed it was definitely defective after asking a few questions. I sent it back at no cost to me and UPS came to pick it up. All I had to do was put it back in the box and tape it up. Because the customer service was so great, I decided to give them a second chance. The second one arrived perfectly and it works very well thus far. I have no complaints other than the temperature light is really bright and there’s no way to dim it. It’s really not a big deal. The unit is quiet and the temperature seems accurate and holds where it should. It’s a very nice looking unit and cools wine perfectly. I’m hopeful it’ll continue to do what it’s designed to do over time. I’ll author a follow-up if it doesn’t. If you’re considering buying this unit, you can at least know the customer service is really great. ... show more

I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of searching before I purchased this wine fridge. It has plenty of room for what I need. Placed a couple of my bigger bottles at the bottom. Every one in awhile you can hear the water draining or whatever it’s doing but it’s not so much that it’s annoying to me. Keeps my wine chilled perfectly. I keep it on the floor by my kitchen table which is in between my kitchen and family room. I hardly notice it’s there. Glad I picked this one. ... show more

Very easy to install and immediately started cooling to a lower temperature. I did have a little problem figuring out how to set the temperature as just pushing the up/down buttons didn't immediately work I had to push the "lock" button several times to get it to work. I’ve had this fridge now for two months and I’m absolutely enjoying it. I must note that the first fridge I ordered arrived damaged. I knew immediately when I removed from the box and noticed exposed wires near the door hinge (see photo). I was able to request a replacement and get a new functional fridge. While the return arrived promptly and was in working order, it’s always a pain to try and return such a large product. I had to haul this in my car to UPS and given how large it is, I needed my husband to help me get it to and from the car to the store. However, now that I have the replacement fridge I am enjoying it. It’s the perfect addition to my home bar (see other photo). I purchased the 18 bottle one because the dimensions worked for the space I had available. I live in a New York City apartment, so space is tight! This fridge has been great so far. I keep the temperature at 54 degrees. I notice that throughout the day it fluctuates. I’m assuming this is due to the fridge cycling on and off to keep things cool. Speaking of which, it’s fairly quiet—it has to be completely silent in the apartment for me to even hear when it’s running. I like the light within and how well it keeps the wines chilled. I purchased this for a raffle at our VFW on 9/11/2021 and didn’t win the wine frig until Nov 2021. The unit started making noise in September and stopped working around the first of Nov 2022. In the photo you can clearly see that a manufacturing error placed copper wire too close to the Freon line. Over time a whole in the line occurred and all the Freon leaked out. Spoke to the manufacturer and they would not warranty the product because they only go by purchase date. There is no way to refill the Freon so this is now a piece of junk. This is clearly a manufacturing defect and an exception should have been made. Instead the only thing customer service wanted to know was how close it was to the wall or furniture. ... show more

I am really enjoying my wine cooler, it is only been a couple of weeks, but so far is working like a champion,, temperature flows between 41 - 44 degrees, but really loving it. Very satisfied with this wine cooler. I used to have a different wine cooler, but I really was very dissatisfied with it, it was a New Air, it never cooled properly, (it did not have a compressor, it was a different system ). but now that is going to the trash ... show more

I purchased in April of 2022 and now it smells like something burnt out when I went to open and get a bottle out. Now it won’t go past 18 on the display to try and adjust the temperature and no sound at all from the unit.
