  • Excellent commercial-grade floor scrubber for a home-owner’s tiled flooring.
The Nilfisk SC100 is an excellent, Danish industrial designed, floor scrubber that a homeowner can appreciate. With the Nilfisk SC100, we entered the world of commercial-grade scrubbers. Here there is less hand-holding and more industrial strength competence. The scrub brush roller is large, bristly and rotates 2100 times a minute, 35 times each second. The contrast with our previous consumer-grade scrubber was clear. Instead of cleaning my house with around two quarts of water and solution we are now using around two gallons! Instead of going back and forth to lay down the solution and then back and forth to pick it up, the Nilfisk lays down the solution, scrubs the floor and picks it up with just one forward or backward stroke. More cleansing soap and water and less effort makes for a remarkable formula for even nicer looking tile flooring. We had a consumer grade scrubber but its motor bearings died with a terrible screech; with the Nilfisk we found something even better at cleaning and more far more resilient. We think the higher price is worth paying. After a couple of months of use, we ran into a problem which introduced us to the world of Nilfisk’s commercial-grade support. The machine did not always switch on when connected. After some e-mailing back and forth, we took it to our local distributor and their repair shop. They found a loose connection to the main power switch, repaired it and then returned the scrubber to our house; no charge, fully covered by the guarantee. The attitude of everyone was that this problem needed to be fixed and that they would get it done. There was no run-around, no problem with the fact that I had not purchase the scrubber from my local dealer and no mention of the fact that I probably caused the defect when I assembled the handle. They deal with businesses that expect good service and they give it. The service manual is worthwhile downloading. A quick glance at it shows that every part can be replaced, even the motor. Also worthwhile is a 20 minute YouTube video from the Nilfisk Academy on the use and care of the SC100. The video is available in English as well as Spanish. ... show more

  • No better than a consumer floor scrubber that costs 1/4th the price
I have lots of tile, laminate and wood floors in my house. Regular mopping took too long and I was dissatisfied with the results. I have tried consumer floor scrubbers before and they didn't give the deep scrubbing I was hoping for on the title floors. So I sprung for the serious $$ for the SC 100. First, the instructions that come with the machine are confusing...no real operational distributions, just pictures that made no sense. There were several pages of "instructions" that must have been written by lawyers...it told you how NOT to use the machine (don't use on an incline, don't use if you are mentally challenged, don't use if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, etc) but no instructions on how to use the machine, what the different brushes were for, etc. I'm pretty handy and learned, but trying to make sense of the instructions made me wonder if I was mentally challenged and shouldn't be using the machine like the nice lawyers said. I had to resort to YouTube videos to figure out how to assemble the machine, fill the solution tank, and use the machine. The results were pretty disappointing : no real scrubbing power, floors were no cleaner than if I used a cheap consumer floor scrubber. There were spots on my floor that I could scrape up with my thumbnail that I thought the machine could scrub clean but, nope, nothing. I went ahead and order the super duper hard scrubber roller to see if I have any better results with it (good luck trying to find additional parts/accessories for this machine) and will update my review once I received and tried the harder brush roller. ... show more

  • cleans like you always wished the mopping did
Pricey for home use but this is a meant for light commercial work and it shows. High quality but light enough fir casual around the home use. Beats the other, consumer-oriented products hands-down in terms of convenience, cleaning ability and capacity of the cleaning and waste tanks. The power vacuum combined with the efficient squeegies give you an almost dry floor in one pass. If you're willing to spend the bucks, you won't be disappointed! ... show more

  • Excellent machine, but I have been unsuccessful getting a warranty replacement part via the vendor.
To fully suck up the dirty water from a floor, the recovery tank must not have any leaks. The plastic tank on my scrubber arrived deformed. Since the top of the two-piece recovery tank does not make a good seal with the lower tank section, air is drawn in around the gasket between the two sections, reducing the vacuum at the floor between the squeegee bars. This is due to the warped/deformed recovery tank sections preventing the plastic latch (see the photos) from catching and ensuring a good seal. Other than that I am pleased with the scrubber and would rate it 5 stars, but after about 3-weeks of trying, Janitor World has been unable to fulfill my request for a new fluid recovery tank. Amazon advises that I must work it out with the vendor. Frustrated that I spent over $1,500 to be able to clean the 3,000+ sqft of travertine in our home and the defective part is preventing me from doing so. ... show more

  • Hands down the best floor scrubber!!
First thing I have to say is anyone who gives this machine a bad review has to be doing something wrong. This thing sucks up water in both directions and does a great job on wood floors or tile. I have not tried it on carpets yet but I’m sure I will be as happy with the job it does. If you can afford this machine I would definitely buy it because in the long run it’s cheaper then buying a Hoover, Bisselll or any of the other $300 floor machines that have to be replaced every 6 months to a year in my experience. Some people say the tank is hard to get off and be careful not to break a nail and I say read the directions because it’s not hard to get off once you do it a couple of times. Remove both tanks at once from the rear of the machine and it very easy. ... show more
