  • Very accurate and easy to use
I was curious as to what the results would be before it arrived, but I was amazed at the accuracy. Once I set it up and adjusted the bubble in the level, I balanced for wheels with brand new tires. As it turns out, I did not have to add any weights to the wheels, so at that point I was a little skeptical. But when I took the car out onto the interstate and was running 70 miles an hour with absolutely no vibrations at all, I was definitely sold on the accuracy of this machine. ... show more

  • A little of modification and it is fine
The hole the pin fits into is too small and rubs against the walls causing friction that does not allow accurate balancing. I drilled the hole larger and deep enough so the pin does not touch except for the very tip. It will wobble back and forth for a very long time without stopping. 5 to 6 times it wobbled when I first received it no good. I then gently touch the tire to steady it. I checked using the old tires and they balanced perfectly. I then mounted new tires check the balance, rotated the tire on the rim a few time until I got the bubble in center, finished mounting the tire and no vibrations while going down the freeway at 70. ... show more

  • Ok but needed modifying
The balancer seems ok and looks similar to others. I bought this one because it was $20 cheaper than some of the other ones. I don't know if the others are any better but this one did not balance very well out of the box. It seemed a little sticky and as others mentioned tires would balance differently depending on their orientation. So after adding a little grease to the pivot point on the base I realized that the hole in the top was either drilled too deep or was too small because the top as actually sitting on the bevel of the pivot point rather than the tip of it. I got a larger drill bit and carefully drilled the hole bigger and cleaned it up and now it the top balances and moves very smoothly. ... show more

  • Follow instructions carefully when using
Like that balancer bubble is about two feet above floor, unit is very portable, handy to use in home garage.

  • Design flaws, uselessness, READ
It's only working if you're super lucky. 1st. To be sensitive enough, the center gravity of tire should be just 1/2"÷1" below the sharp support pin of balancer! So, it will move even if you put 1 cent or dime. But car or truck wheels are DIFFERENT and in my case - Chrysler 200 (aluminum rim) will not move even of AA battery as weight. Forget about accuracy. 2nd. When you put tire on the balancer you would think - Ok, here's the heavy spot.... WRONG...mark your heavy spot, take tire off, rotate 90° ÷ 180° and put back... You will see that heavy spot moved! Wow, how? Answer: it's design flaw. Tire will not sit on cone horizontally. Every time it's sitting on cone slightly tilted! Despite the springs loaded leveling ring...FLOW in design. China just copied old USA design when rimms were made of metal and senter of gravity was almost the same for all. Not in todays world. Useless device. Waste of money. ... show more

  • Does what it's made to do.
When you grow up using things like this. It's easy to put together, just make sure when you put the center on, it is in fact in the center, 4 small screws on top to balance the level bubble if needed. Did 17" tires with it, no problem. Done 2 tires so far with it. Perfect each time. You don't need a picture to know it works, but will throw one up next time I use it. 18 inch tires would probably be it's max. ... show more
