Description

Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV. Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti- glare screen. Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 512GB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage. Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles. The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.

  • I love it
It runs heavy duty games smoothly. The customization is super fun. It’s easy to use. The battery life is good, especially considering what the device runs.

  • Disappointed. Will return.
Disappointing Experience with the Valve Steam Deck I had high hopes for this Valve Steam Deck. I expected a seamless gaming experience, but unfortunately, it has been nothing short of frustrating. The setup process has been a nightmare; the device consistently fails to progress past the update stage. After unboxing and powering on the Steam Deck, I followed the prompts hoping for a smooth update, but it quickly became apparent that something was wrong. Each time I attempted to update the system, I was met with the same error message, which left me feeling stuck and disappointed. I explored online troubleshooting guides and followed various suggestions meticulously, but nothing worked. In a last-ditch effort, I inserted a microSD card, despite the system never indicating that it was necessary. Unfortunately, even this step did not resolve the issue. I also tried using my hotspot to connect to the device, thinking it might help, but I was still met with the same frustrating error messages. At this point, it seems there is no way around the issue, and I feel completely at a loss. I was really looking forward to enjoying the Steam Deck, but I can’t do anything with a device that won’t properly set up. I plan on returning the system, as it has proven to be nothing more than a headache. I would recommend potential buyers to approach this product with caution. ... show more

Does what it’s supposed to do. Works well. Has almost no battery life, but that could be the norm.

  • Battery life/ quality
I definitely like this better than my rog ally. Linux took a minute getting used to ( not really) once you get used to it it just works . It does have updates but you can do them when you want except for when you first turn it on. It needs about an hour or two to update kind of like a smart phone . After that it works and sometimes I've had it freeze but only had to hold down the power button to restart . Other than that I would like to say that the battery life is a champion compared to other handhelds at this power and by power I mean it can play most triple A PC games . That's a win for me I need to be able to play handheld because of life and time. ... show more

  • It can be very hard to set up especially if you don't have good internet
The media could not be loaded. When it first arrived, I had trouble. Setting it up, but I looked on Google for solutions and it said to restart the system. Then it worked perfectly no problems.
