When complete it is a beautiful, and heavy, dresser. It takes time to put it together. It took me about 7 hours, so if you're in a hurry it's not going to go well. Instructions are very clear. I was concerned about the negative reviews concerning the drawers, and there are issues, but they can be dealt with. 1. I didn't put the back on until the drawers were in and aligned. 2. The drawers have two ways they can be adjusted. The glides on the drawers can be moved up or down as necessary. I assembled all my drawers with the screw at the top position. The pieces that hold on the drawer fronts can be moved up, down, in or out, so if the drawer front is hitting on the left side of the dresser frame you would want to adjust those hangers to move the drawer front to the right. I was able to get the bottom three drawers in perfectly with minor adjustments. The top drawer needed both glide adjustment, and front adjustment, but the finished product is exactly as pictured in the product description. 3. I also used some WD- 40 on the glides when I was done I wiped it off with a paper towel to remove dust, and construction residue. The drawers slide perfectly. So, it is a pain putting this together, but if you have patience and are persistent it can be done. ... show more

I am very happy with this dresser. For me it matches my white shaker doors and furniture. My one concern was the black handles, since they do not match anything else in my house. Thankfully the drawer handle holes accommodate 96mm handles (about 3 3/4"), which is a little less common but found at my local hardware store (Lowe's). I did have to buy slightly longer screws for the handles (#8-32 x 3/8"). Changing the handles cost me about $14 total and a short drive. See attached pictures for what I chose. ... show more

Yes I’m that wife that verbatim read the instructions off to her husband regarding the negative reviews, “are you able to put this together with no direction and not mess anything up?” Simple reply, “I think so (coming from a person like myself who does not purchase anything from Amazon with anything less than a 4.5 stars).” I am beyond pleased with this item. Per my husband, “the instructions looked like Chinese Arithmetic” (he can’t speak Chinese nor can do simple Algebra) he’s pretty knowledge in the tool world and patient. I have an adjustable bed which sits pretty high. This has made it difficult to find the right size night stand that wasn't all legs and had storage. This is absolutely perfect. I placed a single order first to make sure that all pieces came intact and that there were no issues with assembly. After assembling this one, I came back to my Amazon app and ordered the second one right away. The box was too heavy for me to take up my stairs alone, so after I carefully dragged it into my foyer, I took the pieces out and laid them out in my bedroom. The instructions are extremely easy to follow. Don't over tighten your drawer screws. I put the screws in well enough to hold the pieces together and then tightened everything to it's appropriate position after assembly was complete. I highly suggest you use a square when putting the back on he dresser or your dresser will be tilted and the drawers will not fit correctly. I picked this advice up from a review I read prior to purchase. Overall, very pleased. Be aware that this is the type of material that may stain if any oils are spilled on it. For extra protection, I would recommend a clear plastic protective mat. ... show more

It took me a long time to put together but the instructions were clear and most parts were labeled clearly. My dresser has a small gap between the bottom drawer and the bottom of the dresser, I'm not sure if that is a design flaw or my own fault from assembling it crooked, but its not so noticeable that it makes a big deal. ... show more

After reading the reviews on this chest I decided to purchase it. I heeded the advice in the reviews to use a square to make sure the draws worked smoothly. I put the whole thing together myself. I works perfectly and looks great for my guestroom. I would purchase again. It is a value!
