I have been sitting my second monitor on a ream of printer paper pretty much forever now. It worked, but looked janky as can be. This Satechi monitor riser/stand is almost exactly the same height as the stack of printer paper, so I'm doubly happy now. It’s very nice, I like the way it raises it up so my eyeliner is better looking at the monitor. If there’s anything I would want, it would be another inch higher but as it is, I love it.

I am using this to fit 2 MacBook Pro 15” in the space underneath my IKEA desk shelf/riser. They fit but just barely! The measurements on the product page say 15x8 inches underneath but for it to not touch the metal feet it’s actually 13 3/4” wide. There is about a millimeter between the bottom MacBook and the stands feet so I have to move it carefully to not scratch. I wish the product page was more accurate but overall I am happy given it works for what I intended. If you have a 13” laptop it will fit comfortably for sure. ... show more

My goal was to place my 13” MacBook Pro (2016) under my monitor on the smallish desk in my home office. After researching several models I landed on the Satechi, hoping for something a little nicer than some of the less expensive options. There was also a promotion available, offering 10% off the stand when purchased with another item I needed (a usb-c to hdmi adapter). The stand is fine, and I think it satisfied my main goal. My laptop fits under the stand perfectly, and the cutouts on the sides make it easy to connect my hub and any other cables to the laptop. It supports my 24” monitor, weighing about 14lbs, without any visible sag (so far). However, there’s nothing “premium” about this stand, despite having a higher-than-average price. As shown in my photo, the underside of the legs have holes that seem to be designed to accommodate rubber or silicone feet, but instead Satechi provides little circular stickers you have to apply yourself. This feels like a cost cutting measure, and seems like they intended to have custom feet made, but ran out of funding and went with a cheap off-the-shelf option. Without those little stickers, the stand will almost certainly scratch most desktop surfaces, so be sure to apply them before putting the stand on your desk. The stand is packaged in a cardboard box with a high-quality color print, which looks great but can make the cardboard more difficult or impossible to recycle. The stand is protected by foam padding, which also is difficult or impossible to recycle, depending on your municipality. I would expect a premium manufacturer to follow Apple and Google’s example and use readily recyclable packaging. This stand is great. I just got it last Sunday, 4/24/2016 (today is Monday the 25th). It came exactly as advertised. The design is excellent, the dimensions are better than I realized (it is slightly taller than I expected, with enough room for accessories), and the materials are good. I bought a stand for each of three devices - iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone, and they all fit on the stand with no problem. The price is reasonable for this type of craftsmanship. It comes with 8 sticky pads on the bottom to avoid scratching surfaces. Really, you can't go wrong with this product, and I doubt there is a better product on the market that compares to this stand. In fact, I like it so much I visited their website to see what other products they offer, and I found some other ones I will probably buy in the near future.
