  • Very Good ratchet for a reasonable cost
Style: 3/8" Drive Pattern Name: Ratchet
Very happy with the performance, as DYI I use my ratchet almost daily and it is excellent for general use as it is slim and very easy to operate with almost no slack on the ratchet. You must recognize that it is not intended for heavy use such as removing extremely high torque bolts or nuts and it should not be used to bang on bolts as a hammer. ... show more

  • Affordable Quality - Chinese Made - American Company
I, believe it or not, broke a mini ratchet for my 1/4" drive socket set, Craftsman brand, old-school USA-made. I have no idea how the tool broke - the ratchet mechanism is failing. I'll open it and find out. BUT, thought I'd see what was out there now that Craftsman is dead (the Craftsman I knew and loved is dead). I searched for BEST MECHANICS HAND TOOLS and got Mac, Snap-On, OTC, and SK (which also bit the dust). Can't afford any of those for a tool I do not use often. There is a difference between very good quality (which I like) and professional mechanic making a living kinda quality. So this ratchet came in. A compact, tidy little thing. Very pretty full-polish chrome finish. No more or less wiggly-wobbly than the Craftsman unit it replaces. Reversing switch feels good, ratcheting action seems just fine. This is a good tool. ONE NOTE: when putting ON a socket, press the button to release the little locking ball. I was able to just jam my Craftsman ratchet into the sockets - but this one is a little more snug - a press of the release button lets the socket slide right on. This tool was made in China. Came in a nice little box that made me feel like I was buying something special, and the box is a plain-brown Kraft box which can be recycled, no problem, no plastic. The company SATA is owned by Apex Tool Group, which is owned by Bain Capital (Mitt Romney is or used to be a partner there). So you're getting an American owned company, both making and selling tools all around the world. Good luck trying to avoid the private capital guys - to my knowledge, there are no more individual owners in the mass consumer tool business. They are either private capital or public stock companies. Maybe the stock companies are more transparent - and you can take a stake in one if you want to patronize your own business. But I doubt Mitt will be willing to share with you at Bain. So - I can pretty much guarantee that I bought a tool made in Red China by capitalist pigs from America. And that brings me some level of comfort - I may be funding something the Party is up to, but I'm not funding very much. And the money that comes back to the USA floats my boat just like it does Mitt's, so can't complain about that. I'd buy more from SATA. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price
Style: 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" Set Pattern Name: Ratchet
The media could not be loaded. Other than that little den on the top from manufacturer works pretty good had to put a little oil in it just to get it going the little clips offset a little bit but it doesn't matter right now unless it decides if pop later on but for the price it was pretty good

  • Good and affordable
Style: 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" Set Pattern Name: Ratchet
I did quite a bit of research, and these affordable ratchets were highly rated. They have replaced all the many different Craftsman ratchets that I have used for the past 40+ years

  • Excellent quality!
Style: 3/8" Drive Pattern Name: Ratchet
The media could not be loaded. I bought this because it was recommended on the Project Farm YouTube channel where he tested a bunch of different ratchets. The Gearwrench 90T was the top pick, but I couldn't justify the price since I rarely use a ratchet, so I went with this one. I don't think you can get better for the price. The quality is very good! ... show more
