No sound from guitar with instrument cable plugged all the way in...have to pull cable out app.1/4" to 3/8" to get connection. UPDATE-I purchased one & gave a bad review after a guy installed it & it wouldn't work unless the instrument cable was 1/3 out of jack. Amazon sent another one & after ohm meter testing it was determined that a wire was not on the correct terminal causing the problem. Since there are no instructions on which wire to solder to which terminal, go to Stewmac (online vendor who sells guitar parts and tools). Enter the product as "Fishman Switchjack Endpin Jack" Item #1521. Click to download the instructions and voila---you will see 2 pages of beautiful and clear installation instructions for wiring both passive and active pickups, mono or stereo. I bought these specifically for the mental shield that comes with them and they work great, but they were just a little difficult to install as there were no solder instructions. I had to do some research and electrical testing to make sure I was connecting the correct prongs.
