How much is your time worth? I tend to buy inexpensive guitars and spend time getting them to the point where they are punching above their weight in playability, sustain, feel. I do this because I love pouring time into something that starts out pretty mediocre and feeling pretty good about it at the end. The return on investment of time means a lot. These tuners sure look the part. They feel weighty, and smooth with great lines that add to the aesthetic of the guitar. That's were the positives end. This is the second time I have poured time into this brand of tuner only to be disappointed. The devil is in the details. In both sets the posts that lock the string into position has been bent on more than one tuner. You end up with 4 tuners that work Ok and 2 that don’t lock at all. I installed these after spending 2 hours dressing and polishing frets. I won’t feel good about those two hours until I have replaced these with a set of fully working tuners. The decision to save money and take a chance on this brand of tuners really boils down to, “How much is your time worth?”. ... show more

Two of the six tuners I received had messed up threads in the the locking mechanism making turning the locking knob extremely difficult. The tuning key also does not turn smoothly making these feel like very cheap tuners. I have no idea if these will hold tune very well as I decided to return them before installing them. I'd say if you have a very cheap guitar with crap tuners, want locking tuners but don't want to spend much money, these may be for you. Then again, I have a Firefly Les Paul (cheap guitar) and I found these were not even as good as the stock tuners so I didn't want to downgrade with these. I would never buy these again. Knowing what I know now, I'd rather spend double or triple the money on decent tuners than put crap like this on my guitar, even on an inexpensive guitar. ... show more

I’m an amateur guitar builder and luthier. I bought these to replace the stock tuners on an affordable acoustic guitar that will be kicking around my living room and likely destroyed by my children lol. The guitar is cheap….I wasn’t going to spend a lot on parts. I just wanted some sense of tuning stability. For starters the ferrules don’t fit over the tuner shafts…..totally useless. Had the ones on the old tuners not been compatible, these would be trash. The knobs turn hard and have tight spots even after oiling. Spend the same money on non locking tuners. You will get a better product. Tuning stability with them seams fine. There just not very fun to use….. ... show more

I've used locking tuners by Grover and Fender, and these are easily just as good. No mould lines to be found, smooth turning action, easy install. Did not have the "chromed-over" peg holes many others have mentioned. Maybe they got a bad set, or maybe they don't understand how locking tuners work.

I had read some great reviews of these tuners on other sites and decided to give them a try. I had bought and installed made in USA locking tuners on other guitars before but I had no interest in spending $100 to put tuners ion a guitar that is worth $200. Obviously, USA tuners will usually be better materials and craftsmanship BUT the Guyker Locking Tuners work GREAT and are a great value! ... show more

I bought these to finish out a stripped Ibanez ART body I bought dirt cheap. I have bought quite a few Guyker tuners and have yet to get a set that gave me an issue. They do take a while to get to you, but the fit, finish, and function is perfect. The high ratio on these is a plus.

Essentially, there are no useable holes to put your guitar strings, through, because Guyker's China factory did not QC these machine heads to ensure the chrome drained out sufficiently to clear the hole. While I have every drill under the sun, I don't have the tiny 1/16" needed to drill out the rock-hard chrome. My greater concern is that I will get down to some bear metal causing oxidation or rust down the road, from within those holes. I would recommend a different machine head folks. ... show more

They went on easy as they line up perfectly to my Ibanez artcore hollow body. Seem to be working fine and the 1:21 ratio makes tuning very nice. And hold tune so far today. So far so good. I will offer updates over time. This is day one.
