As most memory foam products, this comes in compressed packaging, and though most memory foam products require time to fill and expand, this plumped up immediately. No waiting for a test try, so yay! There was no synthetic or unpleasant smell upon opening. The removable (and washable) pillow case is soft, and the zipper is installed securely and works smoothly. It also fits well in a standard-sized pillow case. You can feel the cooling effect just by an initial touch, and it definitely works throughout the night. The second thing is the firmness--not hardness, because these are somehow firm and soft at the same time--but I guess the support? Like your head sinks in to a certain point, and then it stays there, at the perfect level for good neck support. And when you shift positions, the foam springs back immediately, so no temporary divots. It was equally comfortable in both a side position and back position. I think this is a great choice for those who run hot in their sleep. I got both colors, the blue and the gray, and they're both equally cooling and comfortable.

Out the box it took 24 hours for the pillow to expand and fluff into shape and that's important to get it prepared for usage. At $50 this pillow falls in the borderline for mid to premium category range, but personally I think the performance is that of an entry level. It's soft and on the bit firmer side for a pillow and it works great for most sleeping styles such has back and side sleepers which is how I tested it, but in terms of support or stand out gestures compared to pillows in the $30 range there isn't much to call out. The cooling feature is base on the beads and they are not intrusive as they look and can only be felt very slightly. They do feel a bit cooling for the first few minutes but then it slowly leaves. This pillow felt like a very standard foam pillow to me and the pros is that I was able to adjust and use it immediately after the 24 hr expansion time and it felt completely normal and easy to get use to. it added enough support for me and the foam firmness help kept my neck and head supported for back and side sleeping, overall it best works for those who is not picky with their pillows and wants something that works out the box with a medium firmness to it. The cons is that the price range charges it as a premium tier pillow to which I don't think it has the stand out features for so if it goes on sale for around the $30 price range then it's a 5/5 easy cop.

This cooling gel memory foam pillow arrives exactly as described and shown in the listing. The cooling memory foam is truly cool to the touch and feels wonderful when I lay my head down on it each evening. It does seem that it doesn’t stay as cool once my head has been on it for awhile. The pillow height itself is 4” and the pillow does adjust to my head shape as I lay on it. I’ve read reviews of the other pillows offered by Saphreas stating the pillow is too firm, but I did not experience this myself. I prefer a firm pillow that still has some give so I can manipulate the positioning to my likening; this pillow allows me to do just this. The pillow always gos back to its original size and no dents, folds, or impressions remain after prolonged use. The pillow cover is removable via zipper for easy cleaning.

Pillow comes rolled up and was laying flatten within an hour. Fits a regular size pillowcase but can be a little difficult to get in since it doesn't squish like foam or feathers. Really does stay cool! I don't like anything warm while sleeping - not my sheets, blanket, room, anything. Traditional pillows get warm under face or neck. This one really does not. And you don't have to flip it over to get a cooldown, just move over an inch and it is MUCH cooler than where you have been laying, which is not that much warmer. No more sweaty pillows in the morning! The pillow itself is really flat and soft but supportive. I don't feel like my head or neck are being pushed to an angle, they lay very naturally on this pillow. Very comfortable to lay on and sleep. 100% recommend for anyone who sleeps warm and wants a cooler pillow and/or doesn't want a pillow that pushes their head one way or the other but still wants some support. This pillows does both.

I’ve been using the SAPHREAS cooling gel memory foam pillow and I’m really happy with it. The first thing I noticed is how nice it feels. The cooling effect is definitely there and makes a difference, especially if you tend to sleep warm like me. The pillow is a little more on the firm side, which is new for me but I find that I prefer it because it gives me better support for my neck whether I’m on my side, back, or even stomach. It holds its shape well and doesn’t flatten out overnight like some softer pillows do. The cover is easy to remove and wash, which is a big plus for keeping things fresh. Overall, it feels well-made and comfortable, and I’ve been sleeping better since switching to it. If you like a slightly firmer pillow with a cool, comfortable feel, I’d definitely recommend this one.

I received this cooling gel memory foam pillow vacuum sealed. When I first opened it, there was a slight odor, but it fluffed up and aired out within a few hours, so it wasn’t an issue. The pillow feels cool to the touch and was comfortable to sleep on throughout the night. One thing I found interesting is the bumpy texture—it’s almost massage-like, which I personally liked. It comes with a soft, washable protector, which is a nice bonus. The pillow is standard size and about 4 inches thick. My only small note is that it’s a bit thinner than I prefer. When I lay my head down, it deflates quite a bit, so I feel closer to the mattress than I usually like. That said, it’s not overly soft—just less structured than I prefer. For someone who likes a thinner, more flexible pillow, this would work well. Luckily, my husband likes that style and folds his pillows anyway, so it will be passed along to him. Overall, comfortable and cool, just wish it had a little more thickness for extra support.
