It may just be our house cat, but she didn't seem to play with it much after first encounter. I did increase the rating, as the company was very quick to reach out to me and ask if they could remedy the situation. I think that it is a solid product. But, some cats are just finicky, like our house cat.

My cat loves this toy, and I was so grateful to get it at a better price from this seller. He plays with it for hours. He is a teenage cat, and his prey instinct has him carry it around and drop it in the water bowl! Then he is upset when he pulls it out and it won't move again. So, if you might want to pick the water bowl up for a while if you have a cat with high prey instincts. That is why I was so happy at the lower price. I noticed the carrot one from this seller was also at a great price, so I bought a few. My cat has other interactive toys I have bought him, but this one is definitely his favorite and what he goes to first.

I wasn't sure about the reception this toy would get...I have one cat who is afraid of everything, but both cats LOVE THIS. Easy to use...just charge it add the cord and turn it on. They played with it until the battery gave out and it is charging for another round of play. It is sturdy, easy to clean with a damp cloth or paper towel and it goes under furniture and out from under furniture so I didn't have to go searching for it when they lost it... I see many hours of happy playtime with this toy. I bought two so if anything happens there is a backup waiting to be played with while the other charges.

This toy might be better if it were covered in 'fur' and moved slower. The cat was very leery of it. It moves super fast. I gave it to my daughter and her cat batted it a couple times and never looked at it again.

Review for this toy roughly 1 week in with everyday use: Overall, this is an easy to use and fun toy for the cats. We have two kitties. One of them enjoys chasing it around while the other enjoys observing it with occasional chasing. They aren’t crazy about it all the time, but that’s how kittens are with a new toy (especially since they have so many). It does stick a lot of hair or fur on the outside because of the silicon-coated material on the ball but is easy to remove by giving a hard pull to detach the accessory to clean out any hair and wiping it down. I do wish the ball moved faster on the fastest mode (blue) but given how the rope rotates, it’s probably a design constraint. We have another interactive ball toy which functions similar except ZOOMS (no rope, just a ball that rolls around with a bunny costume) so having both of these toys should give our kitties much enjoyment and variety. The battery life is excellent—we charge overnight once the kitties are sleeping and it lasts all day (at least 8+ hours) on any of the modes. It’ll be cool if they come up with more varying attachments aside from the rope! Sometimes the rope is a bit rigid when it spins so some other accessory attachments would be a fun feature. We have doors with slight gaps above the floor, so the rope hitting the door, spinning a bit, before freeing itself can be a bit silly.

I’m providing an update. Despite my comments below about the lights function, I have to give this 4 stars because my cat has gotten to absolutely love this toy. I do turn it off when she’s napping & at night so it doesn’t wake us up. Also this company stands behind their products. My cat likes it well enough, but the instructions indicate 3 mode indicators… blue light-fast, purple light-slow and yellow light-interactive mode. But the colors on mine is a pink light and 2 green lights so I have no idea what mode it’s in. And, this toy never stops… without my cat even touching it for hours, I hear it banging around in the other room.
