I own a 2021 25ft Avalon Pontoon boat and my family and I for the first time this year started double anchoring at a sandbar in Wildwood NJ. Prior to purchasing the SandShark Ultimate I used 2 Fluke style anchors to anchor, 1 at the bow and 1 and the stern of the boat. I still use 2 anchors to anchor however I now use my SandShark Ultimate at the bow of the boat due to the ease of use and the visibility of the anchor, especially where kids, adults and dogs walk and play. I'm so happy that I purchased the SandShark Ultimate. In my opinion, the SandShark Ultimate is definitely worth the money. This anchor is extremely durable and heavy duty, easy to use, easy to clean, and even easier to stow. Another great feature that this anchor offers is that it is easy to see while wading, walking and playing in the water. No more stubbing your toes or cutting your feet on those hard to see underwater anchors. I can't tell you how many kids and adults I saw jam their toes or cut their feet on the Fluke style anchors. This anchor is incredibly solid. 26’ SeaFox 268 Commander. I set the bow anchor and used a stern line to position the boat near the shore in a cove near our campsite on the lake. Drilled the SandShark into the sand and connected the bungee cord (highly recommended to get one) to a stern cleat. That helped absorb any wake and kept the boat in position overnight. It was my first use, so I tied an extra line (pictured - no tension) to a tree from the opposite side stern clear just in case. No need for that. The SandShark is incredibly strong when set properly. I tested the holding power by trying to muscle it out of the sand. It didn’t budge. One slight issue is that the release button is a bit sensitive. Be careful not to accidentally hit that and drop that auger on your foot, the deck of your boat, or overboard, or you’re gonna have a bad time… Very pleased with the quality of the product. It provides me with peace of mind when we are camping overnight. ... show more

The SandShark Ultimate XL 2.0 is easy to use. It holds my 25 foot pontoon in place all by itself when we pull up in shallow water along a sandbar. I highly recommend the bungee (sold separately) instead of a normal dock line, especially if you'll be subject to waves or wake from passing boats. I lost the Pin for my anchor last week and called SandShark directly, looking for a replacement. Tony in customer service was awesome. They sent me one the same day!     • Isn’t designed for fine sand
We have a very fine sandy beach. The small sand gets into the extended portion and it creates too much friction and it won’t slide. Makes it permanently a 4 foot length. I took it home with a hammer I can loosen it up but not the point. Buy a stake or something else. Big waste of money.

Brilliant product. I recently upgraded to an offshore boat (28ft), and so no more power pole. I hated having to carry a second anchor for beach days, as there was no good place to store it without getting sand/rust on our stuff. This anchor was the perfect solution. Stores very easy. Nice travel bag. Fits right in my front locker. At the beach, I’ll drop the front anchor, back towards the bunch. Once positioned, turn off engines, jump in the shallow water, screw in the sand shark, tie off the boat ... and it actually holds. My boat is 8k+ lbs, and it really does hold. Sometimes if tide or wind changes I might need to screw down again, or it might lean a little, but this is the easiest/best solution I’ve found. I use the bungee rope as well, which seems to help. I did have a problem with the pin getting stuck, but company sent a replacement and even texted back and forth with me to solve the issue. Worth the cost. ... show more

Love the anchor. It works great and is easy to use. Took a star away because the case it arrived in had a rip in it which is annoying because I have to worry about it poking through and hitting the fiberglass while carrying on the boat.

I received my SandShark anchor last week and used it this weekend. Everything was perfect. I also use the bungee and the two products together worked flawlessly. I anchored stern-in with the sandshark and the boat never moved an inch. I highly recommend this product to anyone boating in sandy areas where setting the full anchor is overkill. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This anchor easily screwed into the sand, but it did get tight just before the blue outer section came in contact with the sand. This setup normally drags a buried anchor up and out of the sand when wakes roll through from passing boats. This one stayed in place during the few hours we were anchored. It was also made possible using the SandShark stretchable anchor rope. Like others the zipper on my carry bag is very tight, a little WD-40 helps with that. The inner movable silver piece came installed rotated 180 degrees from it's functional position. Check yours before you actually use it or you could end up losing it. ... show more
