I bought this lens for astro photography (with my Canon R5) and for that purpose it works great! Slight vignetting on the edges but that's very fixable in post. Image quality seems good and I like the fact that it has auto focus.

The auto focus works perfectly on my R6, its field of view is wider than my canon 14-35mm F/4. The image quality in the center is very sharp, but is soft and distorted in the corners at F2.8. I bought it specifically for astrophotography and need F2.8, otherwise the corners are better when stepped down. For this reason i ended up returning it, and purchased the Canon 14-35mm F/4 RF mount, which is more versatile. Canon is also coming out with a 16mm F2.8 for $300, which i will consider for astrophotography. But if you need a budget wide angle prime lens, this lens is a great value. ... show more

I just couldn't leave the one incoherent review I saw be the only one so I'm leaving you with this. The lens is fantastic, it is great quality with very little barrel distortion which can easily be fixed post processing (if you do so). It is very contrasty, sharp, with accurate colors and the price and build quality are great. It works perfectly with a CANON R series camera. focusing is lightning fast and super accurate.
