I do have to give it 5 stars. I first saw this speaker when I was on vacation in Colombia within the Airbnb I was staying , fell in love with it there. Been eyeing it for months and finally pulled the trigger and purchased it. So happy I did. First the sound is amazing. Connects to Bluetooth seamlessly and quickly. The bass is amazing, I think because my home is carpeted and it hold the bass better. Writing this review 6 months after purchase and can tell you HANDS DOWN THE BEST SPEAKER for $170. Blows absolutely everything else out of the water. Bass is super punchy/ deep depending on the mode and sounds good even at higher volumes. No issues with battery life either, normally lasts 3-4 days with constant use. Super loud and good sound quality for the size. Easy to move around and connects great with Bluetooth. Can’t beat at this price. ***Update from below, about 6 months later*** it appears there was an update to it at some point. The BT features of pause/play and volume control work as expected now. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and used it quite a bit. I’m very happy with the quality of sound. Great clarity, depth, volume, and little to no distortion even at max. Five stars as a speaker. It’s HALF the wattage on battery, which I didn’t see until I was looking at the manual to figure out the app. Though it’s still plenty loud. I haven’t taken it to the beach or something similar where you may need that additional power, but it’s more than enough for a back yard. The software side is absolutely abysmal! Almost made me want to return it. Definitely not worthy of the Samsung brand from what I’ve seen elsewhere. A) as others have said the UI for the app is terrible. Trying to connect to the speaker is a frustrating experience and ends up as a second BT device on my phone. B) This is the only BT device I have ever seen that you can’t adjust the volume using your phone’s volume buttons. That’s terribly annoying! That one aspect is what made me want to send it back. You have to open the app, connect to the tower, then adjust the volume from the app. There also isn’t a real clear indicator of the volume level. Tap the up/down once, and wait for the goofy lights to dance around then show you. C) The app’s pause/play doesn’t integrate with your phone’s native pause/play. When I hit play again, it tries to pull up an audio library within the tower app. The speaker itself is 5 star. Software, including BT functions on the speaker is a 3 star at best. ... show more

I was skeptical at first. 160W seemed paltry compared to 600W of another brand. Logic prevailed as I figured, I am playing music in my backyard, not a venue. There are several things I love about this. 1) Fires off in two directions. Sound is going to bounce off of EVERYTHING and it's going to sound loud and clear. 2) It was MUCH louder on its own than I anticipated. 3) You can turn up the volume on the Bluetooth source AND on the Speaker to make it LOUDER. 4) Does NOT have a docking area for your phone. Not a deal breaker, you're on BLOOOTOOOTH put it wherever. 5) I walked away far and BLOOOTOOOOTH still reached. 6) I like saying BLOOOOTOOOOTH. SMILE! 7) I put it in my garage, I have to be careful not to turn it up too loud. because it is LOUD. 8) and that is why I was pleased with the quality of this product. ... show more

Got this for a song compared to other sellers, like, 50% less than other sellers. The speaker is loud, and you can really feel/hear the bass - especially when you turn on the bass boost. The lights are great as well, and sync along with the music. This thing has so many uses, too!

This item is great. Very loud when it's plugged in and I use it almost every day. Great battery life, too. I haven't tested out the waterproof capability yet, but I also don't want to risk it, but it has been in a light sprinkle.
