I have a Samsung TV so the link up is easy and the sub connected with no effort it took a minute to find the settings for 'center' and bass/treble as well as the modes but once I got it into Dolby Digital the sound grew full with plenty of bass response at lvl 5 so about half way. Forever I have had a multi speaker surround setup and was looking for something more compact that I could quickly dial in different modes when switching between gaming, movies, NBA games and I am finding this bar/sub combo does a solid job especially at the price point. The remote is pretty basic and it does not have true center but overall nice clarity and separation that offers good headroom for a pretty natural representation. Definitely plenty of volume I have it in a large room with seating for 8 usually play regular TV set it around 12-25 depending on the content and with this bar I am finding 10 to be good for watching regular TV and gaming anything over 15-18 is very loud. Give this a 5 star I have heard a lot of more expensive setups that did not sound any better ... show more

Has much better sound than the built in t.v. speakers. Able to change sound for different media. The bass box is so powerful I dis-connected it. Only problem is occasionally when the t.v. is turned on, the sound bar needs to be un-plugged then plugged back in to work. This is rare though. I purchased this set shortly after I purchased a new Samsung 65" TV to replace one that stopped working. The built-in speakers of the new TV were a disappointment, especially the poor quality of human voices. My hearing is not as good as it once was and I often struggled to catch every word being spoken. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a sound bar but was willing to spend around $200. I'm no longer as tech savvy as I once was and have had a bad experience or two with non-Samsung sound bars over the years that needed a lot of tweaking before they functioned properly with my Samsung TVs. Those are the main reasons that I settled on this model. The subwoofer automatically pairs with the speaker bar and the sound bar also paired easily in wireless mode to the TV. I have never experienced any connectivity issues. This setup improved the sound and voice quality 100%. I haven't felt the need to adjust any settings because the speakers operated perfectly right out of the box and I don't have to crank up the sound to understand the spoken word. I know there's a newer model of this set for a few dollars more but I am completely satisfied with this one. It was easy to set up and I could not be more pleased with its performance ... show more

One Star - Major Issues with Samsung C450 Soundbar Bundle I am extremely disappointed with my purchase of the Samsung C450 soundbar and subwoofer bundle. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and a complete waste of time. Upon receiving the first unit, I immediately noticed a significant issue with the subwoofer. It sounded as if the speaker was completely blown, producing a terribly muffled and distorted sound. This made the entire audio experience unbearable. I contacted Samsung customer support for assistance. To their credit, they did arrange for a replacement unit to be sent. However, this is where the problems escalated. The second soundbar and subwoofer arrived, and to my dismay, the subwoofer simply would not connect to the soundbar. I spent several days troubleshooting, following all the instructions in the manual, but to no avail. I contacted Samsung support again, and this time I was told that the subwoofer was not compatible with the soundbar I received. This is absolutely unacceptable, considering this was a bundle that was sold together as a complete audio solution! It wasn't a case of me mixing and matching separate components. While I must admit that the sound quality of the soundbar itself was decent, especially compared to the built-in speakers of my Samsung television, this positive aspect is completely overshadowed by the non-functional subwoofer. The entire point of purchasing a soundbar with a subwoofer is to enhance the bass and overall audio depth. Without a working subwoofer, the system is essentially incomplete and fails to deliver on its promise. Connecting the soundbar to my TV via Bluetooth was straightforward, which is the only positive thing I can say about this entire experience. However, the persistent and ultimately insurmountable issue with the subwoofer has completely soured my opinion of this product. I will be returning this second defective unit and will be looking at alternative brands for my audio needs. I am genuinely baffled as to how Samsung is selling bundles with incompatible components. I would strongly advise potential buyers to steer clear of the Samsung C450 soundbar bundle. My experience has been a complete letdown, and I cannot recommend this product in its current state. ... show more

I purchased the HW-C450 soundbar with subwoofer. When I first set it up, I cranked up the subwoofer to see how good the bass is. I've never had one before, so I have nothing to compare it with, but I was really impressed. I used some subwoofer test audio tracks from Spotify and I could feel the bass deep in my soul. Really cool. But the next day, when I tried watching a normal show (connecting my Apple TV to the soundbar via Bluetooth), I didn't like it. First of all, after initially connecting the bluetooth, it wouldn't automatically connect whenever I turned on the Apple TV (I had to do it through the settings every time). But worse, whenever someone spoke, I heard a weird, low, gargly, scratchy echo of their voice. I knew that I hadn't blown out the speakers, and they were brand new, so I investigated. It was coming from the subwoofer. If I turned the subwoofer way down, the problem went away, BUT then the sound was too tinny because there were no low tones. I was very disappointed and was about to return it, but then I tried connecting the included digital optical cable to the TV and disconnecting the Apple TV bluetooth connection, and it instantly fixed the problem. I turned the subwoofer back up and got the bass back, but without the garbage echo. Long story short, in my experience the bluetooth doesn't work well for bass, but if you use the included cable instead of bluetooth, you get great audio. I plan to only use this soundbar with the cable from now on, which meets my needs, so 5 stars. Hope this helps someone! ... show more
