I bought this primarily for the ECG capability. I've had other watches with ECG capabilities and this watch is by far, the best. The ECG plot is very smooth and easy to read on the phone app. I'm still getting used to all the extra notifications and features. I like being able to select the watch faces with different feature sets. My only complaint is battery life. If I'm lucky, I can stretch it to 3 days between charging. You can greatly extend the battery life but you have to turn off the extra features. My old watch would go a week between charges but it didn't have all the features this watch has. I bought this as a refurb and for the price, it's an excellent value. The magnetic latch that holds the band is very strong. The watch face is crisp and easy to read. I have AFIB on occasion and the watch lets me know when my heart rate is elevated. ... show more

I have removed one star only due to the charger that came with the watch being useless and would not charge the watch at all. I purchased a charger stand here that I would highly recommend.     • 100% HORRIBLE "renewed" watch, Replacement sent/will update AVOID SELLER "ChubbiesTech"
Before I looked closer I thought I hit the jackpot.. we all know that amazon renewed items are a gamble to say the least. I've got nearly BRAND spanking new items before, and I've got absolutely trashed items as well. This was one of the bad ones. Supposedly their renewed and if scratches are present, their "not visible more than a foot away" but this one had a scratch down the right side of the screen that looked like someone took a razor blade to it! And the final gut punch was the battery life, I have 1 of these watches i bought new, but wanted a renewed one to wear for work (mechanic life) as I don't want to continue getting mine dirty. The battery life of the one i bought from the store, lasts me around 1.5 days to ALMOST 2 days easily. I've got more and got less depending on usage. This one however, not even hooked up to LTE, always on display was turned off, brightness on auto, barely any apps, ECG/heart BPM/Health tests turned to basically a few times a day at most, weather and other constant update apps limited, etc etc .... and i could seriously watch the battery life drain on the screen. After updating it ONCE which takes forever, it went from fresh off the charger to 77%.. one more update put it below 50%, less than 100 min later it was under 20%. That's ridiculous! Also I'll add that the included charger was some knockoff Walmart special! The band was one of those 3$ Chinese elastic straps that you can get 3+ for 5$ on Amazon that are horrible looking. Thankfully I had a few bands i bought with my other watch that I used to test.. Their sending me a replacement and I'll report back if the replacement is indeed up to par or if it's getting sent back as well for a full refund and I'll just have to buy another new watch! Edit--also just noticed that this is NOT Amazon renewed selling this watch which i wish I would of caught sooner, it's somebody named "ChubbiesTech"... and upon closer look their reviews are absolutely horrible so I have a feeling the replacement watch will be going back also! ... show more

    • Samsung smart watch with gimmicky fitness features
This is a previous generation Samsung smart watch which I bought refurbished at a good price point. It seems to do most of the smart watch functionality fairly well, but its my first smart watch, so I may not realize how much else it could do. This watch has the ability to connect to cell phone network on it own if you pay your carrier to add the watch, kind of a cool feature if you do a lot of running or something and want some of those phone features without your phone along, but for me doing more walking and hiking and sitting on the couch, the $10 to $15 extra a month doesn't seem worth it since I have my phone with me anyway and it still does basic fitness tracking without the phone. The feature to let you know you left your phone is kind of nice, I think it reminded me when I went to walk into store once that I left the phone in the car (when I got far enough away from it). A little annoying is the feature that allows you to use Samsung pay or google pay from the watch. Kind of a nice feature, but you have to put a lock code on the watch for ALL features to use it. So if you want to do anything other then tell time, you have to keep unlocking the watch. It would be significantly more convenient for the user if you had to unlock for just that feature. The battery life is not great, I think in a perfect world, with a new battery they claim 40 hours I think. In the real world you pretty much have to charge it every day, and while that is similar to a cell phone, if you are going to use the sleep features, you need to have charged the phone before you go to bed and wear the watch. So at some point during the day, you have to take it off and stop tracking your fitness while it charges, so you better hope it has a fast charger (the amazon vendor I got did not include a fast charger). I mentioned the sleep feature, other than the ability to remind you go to bed if you want it, doesn't seem like it tracks your 'sleep' very well since basically stop moving much and it will consider it sleep, even if you are lying there awake and tossing and turning. Some of the features are kind of gimmicky and have questionable accuracy. The pulseox sensor readings vary widely, and so are sort of unreliable. Compared to a finger pulseox it might be very close or way off. It has reported 99% on me much of the time, even though I live at high altitude and rarely get above 95. The heart rate sensor seems reasonable most of the time, but I haven't dug out my old chest band to check it, but there have been a few unplausible readings as well. If you get a weird reading just immediately check it again it will right itself but it records the bogus one as well. Unless you are in one of the fitness modes, it only randomly checks your heart rate every X minutes. So if you want to say check it right now and you are not in the fitness mode, it takes alot longer to get a reading than cheap fitness/step counters Ive used in the past. The US model does not include blood pressure check, which irritates alot of people, as i saw it mentioned (somewhere else) as a feature, but only in some of the non-US models apparently. The step counter seems fairly conservative to others I have had. And of course if you pick up your wrist to check it while walking, you will miss steps trying to check you steps. The ECG is really a gimmick. It will show you a rough wave form on your phone after you record it, but I have to guess from a medical stand point its probably not high enough definition or accurate enough to use for anything other then novelty. It says it has the ability to check for afib pattern. But how often are you going to be worrying about that, are you going to take a few of these ECG for fun and then never use it again? It has very clear warnings that it is not going to be checking you for a heart attack which would seem to be a much more valuable feature. It also has a 'stress' meter, which takes a while to take a reading and appears to be the 21st centuries equivalent to a 1970s mood ring. The watch size is a bit bulky, I don't mind it, but how close is it in size to something like a Garmin watch which probably has more features. A plus, the pro version seems to have enough protection for the screen built in that I haven't bothered to get a screen protector. Id probably have been disappointed if I had bought this new out of the gate at the price point they sell for new. As a refurb, and not spending to much, its not bad, I just didn't realize the accuracy and gimmicky nature of some of the features. ... show more
