I "downgraded" from the galaxy S24+, but this one is so much better because it doesn't feel like I'm carrying around a mini tablet; it actually feels like a phone. It functions great. The phone itself was in great condition. It's worth noting that when setting everything up, the battery was dying very quickly (updates and whatnot). 2nd UPDATE: I finally got a refund from Amazon. They would only give me a gift card, but I was happy to have it instead of being out $450. I had to call Amazon at least 7 times over the last month and submit and appeal A-to-Z claims multiple times. Basically, just don't give up, keep calling and trying to get retribution. This experience was traumatizing. I received a defective device, returned it in the exact condition I received it, and had to fight for my refund very hard. Glad this experience is over. UPDATE: The speaker was the only thing I could identify, in the few minutes I used this phone, that was defective aside from a small nick in the metal edge. I returned it the next day in the original packaging - a foam sleeve, cell phone box, and triple folded in a large FedEx bubble mailer. The seller messaged me when they received it back asking if I preferred a replacement or refund. When I replied I wanted a full refund, the seller replied again saying the phone was returned severally damaged and included photos of what appears to be the same model phone with the screen bashed in directly in the center, and the back all cracked too. In my opinion, this is very questionable and suspicious. There was no screen damage when I returned this phone. The seller charged me a 100% restocking fee ($449). They sent me a defective device and now refuse to refund me. I've reported this seller and am requesting assistance from Amazon customer service. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Received the phone today. The phone came quickly and was in excellent conditions. The response of there service team is good. Because I am using a contract cellular service, there is no voice mail app from the ISP. Older version of Samsung phones had a built in app that worked. At Sometimes this has been dropped from the product load. I went over this issue with the supplier for 3 days. The first 2 they suggested solutions I had already tried. Finally they confirmed that there was no app available and a solution using Google voice with a transfer phone line is the work around. It came from YYWireless and they really did a very good job with this one. I've had a few smart phones before, and they were all good for their time. Of course, none as great as this S24. I thought the excellent condition was the best, but it's just 1 step below after I looked it up. There are 4 tiers - Premium(Like New), Excellent, Good, Acceptable. Excellent condition was the best available and for the price and what it is, I'm still happy with my purchase. My Excellent condition S24 came with a small scrape on the bottom left corner of the metal(not the screen & see pictured. White dot on screen is a light reflection) which scraped the Violet color off, and deep around the rear cameras are a few fine pieces of debri that I tried my best to clean out and I did get some out, but the rest got pushed down even further into the crevices. Regardless, a phone case will hide the scratched paint and lens protectors will hide the debri. It's all bound to happen, I know. I already knew I would get a generic wall charger and cable, but I actually got a Samsung fast charging wall charger and a generic charging cable. I also ordered it unlocked, as I have AT&T but am moving and my new location doesn't have good service, and I will need to change it to US Cellular. Note: DO NOT get the T-Mobile one assuming it will work with your US Cellular phone; it will NOT. you need to get an unlocked one. I put my SIM card in and it worked. I am in the updating loop process..just keep installing the updates and eventually you'll get all the patches. This is my 2nd time purchasing a renewed cellphone from Amazon. The process is easy and if you aren't happy with the phone, simply return it and have another one sent. they won't all be perfect but a little effort and you can get a great phone for a fraction of the cost. I had purchased a renewed S10+ a few years ago. I received the wrong color and sent it back and I should have returned the next one I got because I was second guessing the condition of the cameras and I was right - the .5 was blurry in spots and there was dust underneath the stock lens indicating it's been taken apart and poorly put back together. I continued to use the phone until today, because while I can live with the camera issues, my S10+ was becoming outdated and not compatible with certain things and I didn't like the curved sides of the screen. If you are considering a renewed phone from Amazon, definitely inspect it when it arrives - check the screen under different light levels and at different angles. pay attention to the cameras. test the cameras. take pictures utilizing all of the cameras. if there is anything you are unhappy with - return it FOR FREE, and get another and try again. ... show more

I mean, it's the most recommended phone on the planet it seems regarding android at least. I had it narrowed down between the oneplus 12/12r, pixel 8/8a and the galaxy s24. It's a hard pick, but when it came down to price, availability and software update schedule for refurbished, the galaxy s24 came through especially because I needed the 256GB version. The phone is as good as everyone reviews it to be. The camera is great, though this time it can actually auto focus unlike my s20 being sporadic. I really like the direction samsung is taking their software experience. Very useful apps and features, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything important. Device care is one of my favorite tools. Maintenance mode is such an important feature. Diagnostics comes in clutch, I use it all the time to make sure my phone is in top shape and it does tell you when the battery life gets low as it did for me. When I got the phone, it got to work and automatically updated it's software to the latest versions all the way up to One UI 7 and android 15. Samsung plans to allow 7 years of updates I believe, which I'm all in favor for. I almost exclusively buy phones used or refurbished and even though 7+ years of updates may sound like a lot to some people or even excessive, it is perfect for people like I and many others who rely on used or refurbished phones. Last time I bought a refurbished phone, the s20 and I could only used it for 2 years before it will stop getting updates. Thank you samsung for being a top contender in this area. I appreciate the fact they finally are keeping flat screens at least on some of their phone models. Curved screens became one of the most annoying things I've ever come across with a phone because it doesn't offer any improvements on function or easy of use and exposes my phone to more damage from drops and open sides. I want my phone case to fully protect my phone. Apple doesn't even do curved screens, get rid of them all samsung. I was hesistant to buy refurbished/renewed from amazon as you always hear mixed reviews for this kind of stuff, anywhere really. I did an exhaustive amount of research and finally got familiar with the pros, cons and what to actually look out for when buying refurbished so you have the best chance as getting what you actually want. Once you know what to look for, it's pretty simple, you just have to know which specific seller to buy from, but most importantly which to avoid. There are some red flag sellers out there and here on amazon, I suggest you do your due diligence and figure out who they all are. Macalegin or whatever their name is, is a great one though, just look at the seller's reviews and that should tell you most of what you need to know. I've been using samsung off and on since 2012 and they have improved so much over the years. Starting with the s20, I finally felt like I was able to experience the way android is supposed to be, smooth, fast, etc. Now with the s24, I feel as though I don't need to continue looking for a better android experience.
