  • Best sound I've ever experienced.. hands down
My new Galaxy Buds Pro are like a small slice of heaven for me. Being an audiophile, a musician and recording artist, I have had the chance to wear just about every type of headphones and earbuds out there. I have paid far more than $200 for headphones, in-ear monitors, and ear buds in the past.. but I have to say that this purchase I was very tentative about. I did tons of research while looking for a pair of wireless earbuds, and I was honestly stuck between 3 different products, all from different companies. In the end I chose these galaxy buds pro based on the size of their driver, and the fact that they had a 2nd tweeter driver the size of most earbuds only driver. I figured they had to be the best, with the size and combo of the two drivers (which are basically the speaker itself for those unaware of what a driver is) and I am glad to say that I was right. The sound clarity and range are almost perfect. The only issue I have is more or less with my body, and that is that when I move a very specific way the earbuds shift ever so slightly and it breaks the seal the rubber cups create. The result is a noticeable change in sound quality, but all I have to do is give them a quick push in and all is well again. Thankfully this only seems to happen when Im listening to music while sitting down, and again its a very specific movement with my head that causes it.. my ears sort of move a little, and the earbuds have to shift around a bit due to the movement of my ear. Normally this happens with any type of earbuds, and with most the loss of sound quality is extremely drastic. With these buds pro, the loss is noticeable but far from distracting.. its the difference between perfect sound, and a sound that is slightly lacking and a tad hollow. But one push in on each ear, and the seal suctions the cups in and the sounds is just impeccable. Then again, AKG are the ones behind the tech in these buds so its not a big surprise that they are excellent for music. I listen to all types of music, and have a vast collection of high res music files (the kind that are very large and take up far more space then the typical MP3 files do). The regular MP3 files I have sound better through these buds then they do when put through expensive floor speakers. And the high res music files suddenly jump to life.. I actually heard things I've never heard. Pink Floyd comes to mind immediately and my finally being able to fully understand what they are saying in the background. Even things that were never meant to be heard, like the sound engineer telling them to start playing.. little things in the music can finally be heard and it is just fantastic. I honestly couldn't be happier with my purchase and knowing now what I know, Id happily pay more for these things. What shocked me was the noise reduction and ambient sounds features. I had to download some updates through the app, but once I had it all current those features really shined. Even the voice recognition is exciting to experience. Its sort of weird to have earbuds in, and all sounds are totally blocked off.. until you or someone else speaks and with the buds still in you can hear as if you didn't have them in at all. The television was right next to me, I could hear it quite well when my buds were first put in.. I could hear the TV perfectly then all of a sudden I could barely hear it.. the buds were just in, and nothing was playing through them. But they had turned on, and the noise cancelation thing kicked in or I might have switched it on in the app playing with it at first. I started the updates and when it finished suddenly that same noise reduction was drastically better. It was shocking. I kept talking about it, and then getting shocked that I could hear with the buds in. I sort of lost my mind for a bit raving about them, then I played music and lost my mind a lot more.. and in the end I am now wearing them about 5 hours a day, totally addicted to music all over again that I've heard countless times before this. Now the experience is so much better, its just like I said.. a slice of heaven. Oh yeah, and the app is wonderful too. The equalizer is rather limited but still makes some very nice changes and is a step in the right direction. Would love to see a full range equalizer with more flexibility, but I'm just picky with those types of things. I used the app to change the bass range, and when I switched over to my Sony walkman the sound remained and it all worked rather flawlessly. I cant say enough good things really.. go get a pair, do the updates, make sure the fit in your ear is proper and that a seal is made with the rubber cups (they ship with different sized cups if you need them), and adjust the features in the app.. boot up spotify, youtube, or your favorite music files.. and voila, heaven enters your ears and serves you slices of musical glory. ... show more

  • Great sound, features and functions!
I was looking for something small for travel, but big on sound to work with my Samsung S10+ Note and my Galaxy S8+ tablet. I normally use Seenheiser over the ear headphones because sound is very important to me. Without getting into $250-$300+ price range, these climbed up the list really fast! SOUND: The seperate woofer and tweeter give music a full and complete sound. Highs, mids and lows are all clean and compliment each other incredibly well! The noise cancelation works great, with 2 different levels/types, there are plenty of options for a changing environment. Through the app, you have preset and custom EQ settings. Call quality is very impressive! Conversations are clear, and people tell me I sound like I am on a landline phone, not wireless earbuds! CONTROLS/APP/FEATURES: There are plenty of settings to tweak for a changing environment in the app, and 2 different widgets give you on-the-fly adjustments as well as the ability to quickly get into the full app. The touch features are great! On top of the (1 touch) pause, (2 touch) fast forward, (3 touch) Rewind default setting, you can set other touch options to your own liking. I have mine set to volume up (hold touch on R earbud) and volume down (hold touch on L earbud). But there are several layout options for whatever is most important to you! If you have Samsung products, you easily switch from one device to another smooth and fast! IP67 Water resistance is an added perk! I have used these to work out, do yard work, and even shower! (I did not wash hair or directly soak earbuds.) The earbuds "seal" into your ear, and Samsung includes different size tips. Once I got the right size tips on the buds, they sealed into my ears and I didn't really know they were there. I am also used to having headsets "over" my ears versus in them so these is great!. They do not sag, pull, or fatigue my ears. I have used these for multiple hours straight and no issues or discomforts. Once I put them in, they stay tight and in place until I wish to remove them. WIRELESS CONNECTION: The signal is clean and strong! I can wonder throughout my 4 bedroom house with my phone at one end and never miss a beat! BATTERY LIFE: Not going to lie, this was a big concern. Wanting these for traveling, I need a long life for those layovers and flight delays. Going by the specs, these where on the lower end of battery life. I went ahead and rolled the dice. So glad I did! The case holds about 4 charges before it needs to be recharged. So even on the days I am 12+ hours in airports and planes, I always have a charge! A quick 10-15 charge in the case gives these guys a good boost. Current earbud (L and R) charge and case charge are available to see in the app and widgets. Overall, I am so glad I got these, and Samsung continues to knock it out of the park for quality, features, price! And partnering with AKG for sound has produced some incredible headsets! I would highly recommend these to any audiophile who is looking for a big bang in a little package! INCLUDED IN BOX: Earbuds, charging case, USB C cable, ear tips, instructions. *I was not paid or compensated for this review. ** The black protective case on earbud charger case in pictures is a Samsung case sold separately, not included with headphone purchase. I purchased it on Amazon as well. ... show more

  • Great sound, but not great comfort
I've had these earbuds for over two months now. I bought them as an upgrade from the Plus model, and it was an... adjustment. The Pluses are super comfortable and they fit right out of the box. They also have spectacular battery life- 11 hours with another 11 hours after charging in the case, compared to 4.5 hours for the Pros. The Pros are bulkier, with a larger battery, which can make them feel precarious in your ears. I knew I'd have to buy different ear tips. Initially I got sport tips that had memory foam covered by silicone. These didn't help much, and they made my ears itchy. So then, I bought ALZA SednaEarfit Crystal ear tips. They made all the difference. Suddenly the Pros were comfortable. The sound went from good to fantastic, and they stay in my ears. I no longer needed to fear they would fall out. Total game changer. So why did I upgrade from the Pluses and sacrifice all that battery life? There are some awesome features that make up for it. They're also the reason the battery life is so much shorter. Active Noise Canceling is great for tuning out annoying sounds like the droning of a fan or the roar of an airplane engine. It works by emitting a sound that cancels out the initial noise. This means it's not as effective at tuning out intermittent sounds. Annoying noises like crunching when a roommate is eating are still covered by passive noise canceling when the Pros fit correctly. You can choose low or high ANC. A cooler feature is Ambient Noise. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Ambient Noise actually pumps in the sounds around you, so you can hear what's going on around you when you need to. I love when I need to hear a knock on the door or a timer. It also has 4 settings from extra low to extra high, so you can choose how much noise from your environment you want. If I get really into the music, I can still miss things. So I sometimes just use one earbud. You can go into Accessibility in the Galaxy Wearable app and change the settings so all the sound goes through just the right or the left earbud. Go to Earbuds settings -> Accessibility-> Left/right sound balance to change this. Another convenient feature is Voice Detect. When the Pros detect a voice, it automatically turns down the sound so you can have a conversation without having to take out the buds or turn off the music. The only downside is it will turn down the sound when I sing along to my music. So I turn off voice detection in the Galaxy Wearable app when I want to sing. The Pros work best with a Samsung Galaxy phone. Connecting to my S21+ was easy and stress free. Samsung also has a nifty feature in their phone's Accessibility settings. You can actually take a hearing test with your earbuds and it will tailor the equalizer to your individual hearing. This is already helpful for me in my 30s. The value of this feature increases with the age of the owner, as most people lose the high tones as they age. Be warned, if you don't have a Samsung, connecting to your buds is a little more onerous. Put them in your ears and hold the touch controls while in Bluetooth pairing to connect them to a non-Samsung phone. As for appearance, I wasn't overjoyed to discover the chrome finish on the Pros. It wasn't clear it was chrome from the picture, at least when I was interpreting it through the lens of how the Pluses look. With all the great features the Pros bring to the table, I'm happy to overlook their appearance. I got a gorgeous case that matches my phone case, and enjoy that. Overall, if you want the fancy features the Pros offer, these are a great choice. If you don't need them, just buy the Pluses, they're cheaper and fantastic without having to customize them. ... show more

  • Awesome experience.
These buds are fantastic. I've owned the airpods pro and honestly active noise cancelling is the same or better in some situations like wind, you won't have a problem with this with music on too i can't hear a thing with these in. The battery you won't need to worry about because these lasted all day with youtube and Spotify playback w/ Active noise cancelling enabled. The one thing that is so great about these over the airpods pros is that these can detect you initiating a conversation and AUTOMATICALLY switch to ambient noise for a set time, I set my time to 10 seconds cannot express how useful this is with a week of me owning these. Microphone quality is fantastic when on a call too. The sound. I casually listen to music when im at work after close and the bass is great for what kind of form factor these buds are I listened to my whole Playlist with the Dolby atmos set to Auto which can detect when your doing video playback or audio which is cool, and I set my equalizer to normal, the rest of the preset setting for this drowned out my songs, so I just stuck to normal. I have zero complaints. I don't workout or run, so I can't really tell you how they stay in place, but they come with two extra tip sets ( I saw a review claiming they didn't which was wrong lol) and it makes a nice seal for my ears for the ANC to work flawlessly and stay in while I'm walking around. Battery life for the case? I just put it on the charger today and it's been a week at least, so very good. The buds battery life hasn't been an issue yet because I just put em in the case after I use them, as I said before they've lasted all day with mixed use with video and Spotify. Pairing them with my S21 ultra was simple, just open the case up and the phone sees it and connects it, using the galaxy wearable app on your phone you can tweak your settings like the ANC setting, the auto voice detection and a lot more. The only and only gripe I have with them is when I have no music playing and I'm browsing my phone, sometimes I'd hear feint radio static, not sure why it happens, but it's rare for me. Overall, awesome set of buds for the premium you pay. ... show more

  • These are great earbuds and worth every penny!
I just got these today as a renewed item. Let me tell you that they were in mint brand new condition. I'm not certain what other people are receiving saying there was earwax in what they got and that they also received fake cloned Samsung earbuds .....it's simply not true. They work and look like they're brand new and I picked them up for a mere $40....You can't beat that! The Samsung wear app is excellent and you can really get a lot of control out of it. The earbuds are PLENTY loud and have excellent balanced sound. I just leave it on the Normal setting as it brings out the very best in the earbuds. Another thing I'd like to address is all of these other reviewers making claims that they constantly fall out of your ear or give you ear infections and burns and all of that other hogwash. They don't fall out of my ears...did you put them into your ears correctly?? They don't fall out while you're talking or chewing either....nor while working out or jumping up and down....so that claim is simply 100% false Even though these are now 2 years old and don't have AptX or LDAC codec on them they do sound amazing if you can pick them up for under $100 they'd still be worth the money. I love the fact that they have wireless charging and that my Samsung phone has power share so I can just charge them off of my phone. I do wish the battery would last just a little longer. If you turn off ANC you'll most likely pump another hour out of them. That's fine they last just a tad over 4.5 hours...I have several high end pairs of Soundpeats though that have longer battery life ...almost 7 hours playback even on high volume and with LDAC and ANC... Bottom line these are absolutely amazing earbuds and judge them yourself...however my ears are medium sized and they fit very snug and don't hurt in the least and I've already had them in my ears over 3 hours I picked up the Phantom Silver and the mirror finish chrome isn't too out there when you wear them...they're not huge earbuds. On a whole I'd give these a 9 out of 10 the only thing really being the battery life on both the earbuds and also the charging case. You can get two solid charges out of the case for the earbuds. This is more than ample for going to the gym....a run using them for a podcast...audible book...etc Believe me when I tell you there's a world of difference when you're listening to music on high end earbuds as opposed to cheaper ones...its a much more immersive and enjoyable experience overall. Makes me want to use my earbuds more. Don't hesitate....you'll enjoy these very much! ... show more

  • Quality ear-buds, but not well-suited for motorcycle use
EDITED 6/10/2021: After figuring out a way to get my helmets on over these earbuds without disloging them, I found the ANC performance improved dramatically. I bought these primarily for use while riding my motorcycle, to replace my earplugs + in-helmet headset combo. I wanted something that could preserve my hearing (earplugs), and play music or nav directions from my phone (headset). The active noise canceling would be critical for this. Disclaimer: as a normal set of earbuds, they work very well. The rest of these remarks are based on use on my motorcycle, under my helmet. Fitment (4 stars): These come with three different tips, and luckily one of them fits my ear canals well. They are relatively low profile and do not stick out from my ears as much as others I've tried (Sony WF-1000MX3, Air Pods Pro, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds) and so they *barely* fit under my helmet without getting pulled out when I put the helmet on. They stay in place pretty well while I ride. Comfort (5 stars): I forget they're in my ears while riding, and I get no discomfort over time. I don't get any of the "negative pressure" discomfort that people seem to experience with ANC earbuds. Very comfortable. ANC (EDITED - 5 stars): After using these for a few more rides and experimenting with getting my helmet on over them, I've realized that previous ANC performance was based on one or both earbuds getting dislodged or loosened when putting my helmet on. With the earbuds properly seated, the ANC works extremely well at reducing ambient noises (wind, road, exhaust, engine) even at highway speeds. It works so well that I can barely hear my rev-matches during downshifting, which I could hear easily with my regular earplugs. Passive Noise Cancellation (2 stars): The silicone tips provide some seal against the ears to block out noise passively, but they are nowhere near as effective as a basic set of earplugs. They are insufficient to protect hearing on their own. Bixby/Google Assistant Voice Detection (2 stars): Again, at lower speeds it works well. The earbuds will detect normal commands fine below around 25mph. Up to about 35mph, I can get it to respond by shouting "HI BIXBY" or "HEY GOOGLE" pretty loudly under my helmet, but that gets old quick and you look like a fool doing this in traffic. Plus, having either assistant recognize the actual command correctly at those speeds is a roll of the dice. Touch Detection (5 stars): I don't get any false touches while wearing these under my helmet. This seems to be an issue with other touch-sensitive earbuds when used under helmets, and thankfully this wasn't the case with the Galaxy Pros. Sidenote: the touch controls are a little finicky during "normal" use - they respond to long taps (like touch and hold for a one-1000 count), not quick taps. Battery Life (5 stars): even with ANC on high and streaming music all day, these will easily last me an entire's day of riding (about 4-5 hours for me). And I like being able to get a quick charge out of the case if needed. I don't think I'd ever have battery life issues with these. Sound Quality (4 stars): They're fine. They get plenty loud enough to play music at levels I want to listen to while riding, and I'm not an audiophile so I don't need in-ear monitor-level quality. I've taken a few calls while riding, and I don't think the people on the other end know (or are bothered by) the fact that I'm riding a motorcycle. Other: I can get these to fit under all three of my helmets (Shoei Ex-Zero: dirt style, HJC RPHA 11 Pro: full-face, Shark Skwal: full face) with some effort, but they will always fall out when taking any of these helmets off. If you go this route, prepare to take off your helmet over a soft surface where you can easily find the buds once they fall out (especially if you go with black). ... show more

  • Great price for good ear buds
Very easy to use and great sound. Fit in my ears well and have nice touch controls. They work with my Samsung phone flawlessly. Every time I open the case with my phone on it tells me how charged the bids and case are, which is so nice. The case is small and fits in my pockets nicely. Pretty sturdy design and they look nice. I've had these for about a week and the only problem I have is wearing them while I'm eating. They slowly work out of my ears, but previous buds I've had have done the same. So far I'm happy with the purchase of these and would recommend them. ... show more

  • Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro - A Good Product but first pair was defective
The first pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro I ordered had an unusual problem. The left bud kept dying faster than the right bud. Attempts to resync the buds worked short term, but the problem persisted. I contacted Samsung Support (Foreign Based / Limited English Speakers) to inquire about the issue and Samsung Support was useless. After escalating my concern to Corporate, I confirmed the first were defective. I was sent a replacement by Amazon and the replacement pair works great. Both earbuds drain battery at the same rate. Sound Quality - I like the richness of the sound and bass. Although, I don't consider myself an audiophile so this is subjective. Fit - Be sure to twist buds when placing in ear. I've had them get knocked and fall out. The lip of the silicon earbud is what holds these buds in place. If you knock the bud (wear a hat, tap on them too hard to switch modes, etc) it is possible to loosen the seal. Generally, they stay in place for the most part. Construction - These buds are very durably constructed and will survive getting dropped without damage. Noise Cancellation - I'd give it a 7 / 10. Does a Very Good Job. Be sure you have the ear buds snugly seated. Will cancel out a majority of traffic and background noise or reduce these elements to an acceptable level. Not perfect by any means, but I'm generally satisfied with the results. Customer Support - Pretty useless in my opinion as a forewarning. As long as you get a pair that works, you'll be overall happy with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. I use mine on a daily basis. Update: Still very happy with these buds several months later. Use then daily. ... show more
