    • A Great Little Computer!
This is a great little computer. I have this one and another netbook (Acer Aspire One), but I like this one more. It is smaller and lighter, overall, even though the screen is the same size. The keyboard is also more comfortable because of the raised keys. The battery life also seems to be longer; I have kept it running at full power (no power saving features enabled) for more than seven hours. I would imagine that it would do up to ten hours with strict power-saving features enabled. It comes with a nice suite of software, but no so much that it is a problem. You get what you really need, but not much, if anything, that you don't need. I like that because it leaves it up to you, the user, to decide what to install. The web cam software is worthy of a comment: It enables you to add all sorts of special affects to your photos and videos, including an animated, realistic cloud of flames that follows your head no matter where you move around in the camera's eye! The flames are just one of dozens of cool affects available. If you are getting this for a child or teen, he or she will no doubt have a lot of fun with this feature. The sound system is impressive for a netbook. Compared to my large laptop (Compaq Presario CQ60), the volume and quality is way better. The sound is also much better than what I get from the Acer Aspire One. With three USB ports, I have plenty of room for external, plug-in devices, but with Bluetooth, I can also use plenty of wireless devices, sparing me the nuisance of a ganglia of wires to use such devices as a mouse or printer. My only criticism is that you really do need to spend the extra $15-20 for a memory upgrade to get great performance from this computer. With Windows 7 Starter installed, it will support up to 2 GB *maximum* and you will do very well to invest that extra money. Without it, you will get "high memory usage" messages while using Firefox, Open Office, and other weighty programs. With it, you will be amazed at how much faster and smoother your applications run. Even your web browsing will be faster. As for how to upgrade the memory, it is easy: Just verify the exact type that it needs before purchasing it, then unscrew the little door marked "Memory" on the bottom of the netbook. Carefully take out the memory card, then plug in the new one, and put the little door back on. Turn on your computer, and you are ready to roll! No other input from you is necessary then. With the memory upgrade, I am able to play CivCity Rome, intense first-person shooter Flash games online, and other games just fine. Of course, this is not an ideal gaming machine. If you are looking for that, you will need a more powerful laptop. With the memory upgrade, I also use this computer to watch full-length, streaming movies on NetFlix, YouTube, Vevo, and Amazon all the time without any major problems. If you are looking for an extremely portable, stylish, and durable little computer that will survive a lot of time in a backpack without weighing you down... something that will handle all your basic web surfing, online movies, word processing, and occasional games... this may the netbook for you! ... show more

Long battery life. Easy to configure. Comfortable keyboard with great tactile feel. Smooth touchpad although I use a mouse. Great screen - bright and excellent resolution. Quiet harddrive. My only dislike is that the AC adapter uses a 3 prong grounded plug instead of a 2 prong polarized plug, but I can work with that. The 97% size keyboard is really comfortable for my large hands (I know I said that already). ... show more

The device is just right for those that demand fast computing in all and any instances regardless of how many applications are running already. You are surfing the web in 25 seconds from cold start no matter how much stuff and space is left in the SSD that scores 7.2 ( over 7.6 max) as per Windows Index. No bloat ware are installed, only useful Samsung's applets such as automatic updates, chat access with Samsung support and user friendly backup and restore application ( system or documents only or both ) that works seamlessly and swiftly. As a small disappointment and while plenty bright, the screen is not quite as sharp as LCDs screen by any standards. Connectivity is great considering the thickness of the machine and Samsung provides a stylish and neat Ethernet adapter with the stunning packaging box. The Micro-SD slot is so far easy to access. Time to swap your regular SD card for a micro SD with adapter in your other devices, folks. The touchpad is nearly as good as that found in Macbooks Air while scrolling up and down runs pages w/o suspension-like effect. ... show more

This Netbook is great for me. As a student I like how small and light weight it is, but yet fast enough to run Office 2010 and save my Docs. I can watch Netflix just fine, I even upgraded to 2 GB memory so it can run just a little faster. Battery will last all day (7 hrs) for me. The best part is the fact that it was on the cheaper side. Not to mention that the sound is fantastic on it! ... show more
