Product being reviewed: SAMSUNG 55-Inch Class OLED 4K S85F Series, Vision AI Smart TV (2025 Model, 55S85F) Object Tracking Sound Lite w/Dolby Atmos, NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, Contour Design, Color Booster Pro, Alexa Built-in OLED TVs look considerably better than standard LED TVs, and the 55S85F by Samsung is no exception. The colors are incredibly vibrant and overall picture quality is great. I ordered this to replace an aging LED TV from 2011. Doing a bit of digging elsewhere online, it appears this TV uses QD-OLED technology with 10-bit panel depth. The HDMI ports are all 2.1 according to a specifications website. Pros: -OLED picture quality and contrast is top notch. -Viewing angles are excellent. -Colors pop and are vibrant. -Fairly lightweight at around 27 lbs without the stand. -120Hz refresh rate for fast motion. -About 1.33 inches in depth. -Bezels are very small. -4x 120Hz HDMI 2.1 ports with one supporting eARC. -First setup is easy, especially if you skip the smart features if you have a separate set top box. -Remote is thin and light and uses a solar panel to charge it up; also has USB-C. -The included legs snap on with no screws in seconds. Cons: -More push for AI integration, though some may consider this a pro. -Some features, like object tracking, locked behind account activation. -Box it came in was designed in a way that made it hard to remove the TV. -Home user interface is not the best and feels clunky. -Home user interface is set to come up each time by default - this can be disabled in settings. -Display is set to Eco mode out of the box, which can reduce brightness and therefore, overall picture quality. Overall thoughts: The 55S85F is a great OLED TV with many perks for most consumers. If you want the most of your home entertainment experience, pair this TV with a good sound system, smart set top box, and 4K Blu-ray player. I've been enjoying this TV since I received it, and while it is pricier than many LED TVs out there, the OLED price premium is entirely worth it in my opinion. Recommended. ... show more

This is an expensive TV. This is an AMAZING TV. This is a THIN TV!! Wow! This thing really is amazing. Color is phenomenal, it's easy to use, especially with switching inputs - it auto switches when a device is powered on, and the setup was super easy. I will say, I use an Apple TV, and didn't want to use any of the "Smart TV" from Samsung, and it did allow me to set it up like this. I opted out of creating a Samsung account. and honestly, rarely use the TV's menu system/apps. That said, the integration with my Apple TV, Bose soundbar, Nintendo Switch, XBox360 and even the Wii (with an HDMI adapter) work flawlessly. ... show more

With Next Gen TV being a mandate very soon it is unacceptable that this TV is not NextGen capable. The tuner needs to be able to receive ATSC-3 NextGen signals or will be obsolete when the new transmission method becomes law. This alone ruins the future capability and usefulness of this set and Samsung should not be manufacturing any new sets today that will soon be junk in near future. ... show more

    • A really nice TV, with high build quality, a super flat panel, vibrant colors and good sharpness.

This is definitely the nicest TV I've ever owned, so I frankly don't have a lot to compare it to in terms of other expensive TV's, but it definitely feels like it's in an entirely different class of product compared to the typical smart TV's I've owned from brands like Vizio. Unboxing was a bit intimidating, but ultimately setup and VESA mounting was super easy to do. Comes fairly well protected and mine shipped without any damage or issues, no dead pixels or anything so far after a couple weeks of use. The TV looks great and has decent built in speakers. I really like the remote control, which is USB-C rechargeable, can be given voice commands, and has a panel on the back to extend battery life by absorbing ambient light, also quite easy to use with minimal buttons but still has the important ones, dedicated netflix button and an interesting up/down rocker style switch for volume, which works well though takes some getting used to. Connectivity on the rear is pretty good with 2 usb ports and 4 hdmi. Build quality feels super high on this device, the TV itself is incredibly thin, but the panel feels quite thick like a sheet of glass and is heavier than expected, but was still light enough for my fairly budget rolling TV stand to handle. I did not like that the power cable on the back has a slightly unorthodox male connector to insert into the TV and its difficult to tell when it's fully seated, but that would probably be my only real complaint so far about this TV, which is pretty great all things considered. In terms of menu response time everything has been fast, it hasn't given me any odd errors or anything thus far which is nice, and viewing quality overall is A++. ... show more
