I'll admit up front that I'm not the primary customer Samsung had in mind when designing this laptop. If all you need to do is browse the web and open, create, or print documents for work or school, you can find a laptop that will meet your needs for less money. My needs go a bit beyond those basics, but I'm not what you'd call a power user. But I like to keep my computers as long as possible, and this computer has the processing power, RAM, and hard drive space that will allow me to continue using it for years before I'll need to upgrade. Power users, on the other hand, can compare this computer's specs with those of other machines and see which best meets their needs. It comes with Windows 11, the latest operating system from Microsoft. Setting it up was straightforward, with no issues. Unlike some computers, it didn't require add-ons or updates. I installed every app I normally use, and it ran them all easily. One thing I've learned to dread about setting up a computer is getting it to talk to my printer. With this computer, it couldn't have been easier. I went to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers and scanners > Add device. My printer immediately showed up on my network. I clicked it, then opened a document and clicked Print, and it printed, no hocus-pocus required. Samsung boasts about this laptop's sound and video, so I decided to watch a movie on it. The screen gave a sharp, clear picture, easily displaying every pixel in the source material. Some high-resolution screens don't handle motion well, but this screen made every movement smooth, fluid, and natural. When I watch a movie on a computer, especially on a laptop, I usually plug in headphones or external speakers, but since I was testing the laptop's sound quality, I used its internal speakers. The sound didn't fill the room, but for a laptop, it was remarkably loud and clear, with no audible distortion. Oddly enough, there's no built-in webcam, but I already had a USB webcam, and it's not something I normally use when on the go. Some high-end laptops are heavy and fatiguing to hold on your lap during extended sessions. Some get hot enough that I need an insulating layer between the computer and my lap. This one was remarkably light and comfortable, and however long I used it, never felt warm. I'm not a fan of trackpads. When I take my laptop on a trip, I pack a USB mouse. But this trackpad is the best I've used by far. It's larger than most (5.9 " x 4.2") and allows me to easily and precisely control my cursor or tool. I've had trackpads that wouldn't click unless you tapped forcefully, risking damage to the pad. All of Windows 11's touchpad gestures seem easier and more precise on this pad than on any other I've tried. The trackpad also has haptic feedback. You might not notice it at first. It's subtle. But clicking, dragging, and gestures feel more like manipulating real objects, and less like tracing shapes in the air with your fingers. I'm not giving up my mouse, but with this computer, I don't feel so awkward without it. For those who like touchscreens, this computer has one, and with similar performance to its trackpad. (I won't be using it much, but only because I'm fanatical about not getting fingerprints on my screen.) Another subtle plus: the illuminated keyboard. If you, like me, never learned to touch type, working at a keyboard in low light is a frustrating experience. I've used keyboards that were distractingly bright in a dark room. That's this keyboard's subtlety: the keys don't seem to glow in any conditions, but as the room grows darker, the letters never fade—they are clearly visible without illuminating anything else. The only thing I would change about this computer is the number of USB ports. It has one USB-A and two USB-C ports, but one of the USB-C ports feeds power from the charger to the computer and to the battery. When I'm using a USB mouse and running on AC power or charging the battery, that only leaves one USB port. I can use a USB hub, but that is one more item to pack and carry. ... show more

This laptop immediately impressed me with its thin, sleek, high-quality look. As a longtime user of Mac laptops, this one reminds me very much of the form factor and keyboard I'm used to. The keyboard is very smooth to use and the screen is gorgeous. Video looks amazing and scrolling is buttery smooth with up to 120Hz screen refresh rate. The 6 speakers produce a full sound that is hard to believe actually comes from such a thin computer. There is plenty of processing power for applications like multitasking and video editing. The only thing I didn't love about it was the Windows 11 installation that was quite restricting in what it would allow me to install without jumping through hoops. This wouldn't be an issue for many users who don't want to install a lot of third party software and, in fact, could be a plus since the extra security does prevent users with less tech experience from installing malware. Of course, Windows 11 is not a Samsung product and doesn't reflect on the amazing hardware experience of this laptop. Users always have the option to install a different OS such as Linux too. Overall this is the most impressive PC laptop I've ever owned and it's hard to imagine anyone not being very pleased with it. I'm very glad I ordered it! ... show more
