For the size I purchased, you cannot beat the price for four total! Our old shutters were black when we purchased the house, and I painted them white a few years later. They held up pretty good for almost 25 years after that, but it was definitely time for new ones. I did look in local home-improvement stores, but none of them had the exact size and what they did have was super expensive! Finally wizened up and looked here on Amazon and lo and behold! They had the exact size I needed! And the price was amazing. So happy when they arrived and found how beautiful and sturdy they were and installation was easy! Does not affect the color of the paint. Very pleased with the shutter. They are sturdy and attractive. Hold paint well under cold temperatures. No cracking of paint. Overall an excellent product and reasonably priced.

Introduction: My house is nearly 30 years old. During a recent heavy windstorm, a piece of vinyl siding was pulled away from my house and damaged my vinyl shutters. Fortunately I did not have any other shutters in the front of the house so I had flexibility in picking out a replacement. Pros: The color and size of the desired shutter was available from many sellers. I chose this product based upon the user ratings. The quality of the shutters appeared good. The installation was relatively straightforward. Cons: The plastic screws that came with the shutters were weak and broke during installation. We ended up purchasing metal screws we felt more confident with. Misc: The new shutters looked like they belonged with the house. Conclusion: I recommend this product. ... show more

    • lightweight easy to install, nice looking

These were super quick and easy to install and very lightweight. My only concern is the plastic connector to the wall wasn't very tight or didn't appear super durable. I could see it break off with heavy pressure an it being easy to pull them off the wall. This is a concern due to the fact we live in FL and they are replacing our shudders we lost in 155 mph winds. I guess we will wait and see and I will edit this review after the next hurricane season. ... show more

My two local leading name building supply stores, HD and L, state they are no longer carrying in stock window shutters because the younger generations do not like the look on their homes. But both of these outlets will custom order the same shutters I need for 1.5 times the cost of the amazon price. Low and behold the shutters are the same product. Bought these on a whim since my wooden ones would have cost more to sand down and re-paint. So glad I got these. These are very lightweight but feel sturdy. Installation was fast, but I wish the holes in the panels themselves were pre-made, since it was quite awkward to use a drill on them. They look great on my house and would pass off as wooden, even from quite close. I do wish they included more screws though as you have no room for mistakes.     • Shutters Can Be Hinged

This is the 2nd set of these shutters I have purchased. The first set I bought last year. I used them on my balcony to shield plants from the intense, scorching sun. This year I decided that they would look nicer and be more versatile if they were hinged even though that is not what they were designed for. I purchased hinges, screws, hex nuts, and tiny plastic screw protectors. Using an awl and other tools, I was able to create holes in the plastic to assemble the hinges. Now they are free standing vs leaning against baker's racks, etc and can be used many places on the balcony. (Note: Using electric devices would be not only less primitive but time-saving. Highly recommend rather than relying on one's own manual labor.) For years I have used 5-hinged wooden shutters for plants positioned higher. The set came pre-assembled with durable hinges and have lasted for close to 15 years. However, I wanted something lighter and shorter for smaller, lower areas, and these have worked well. They also look much nicer free-standing than leaning. The intensity and angle of the sun's rays are not 100% blocked, but the plants are acceptably less scorched. Doesn't matter whether the shutters are louvered (like the tall wooden ones) or in a fixed position (like these shorter ones), some rays will still get through. ... show more
