These fans are fairly quiet. I don't hear any ticking or annoying tones from them. Just a nice whoosh. I broke one fan. I was using it outside a case to cool some external drives. It got knocked over, and one of the blades struck another fan frame, and it just snapped off. I broke another one off to see if I could balance it (I failed), but they really are quite brittle. Generally shouldn't be a problem once they're in a case, but they won't stand up to being tossed around. The fans each have a 3-pin fan cable about 50cm, rubbery feel cable sleeving. Four output fan hub, 4-pin (even though fans are only 3-pin). Only red connector has tachometer line attached. PWM line runs to all 4 fans. Has a capacitor for each fan, otherwise no active components. A separate sticky foam pad is included to secure the fan hub. You get four sticky rubber pads to apply to each fan (12 total). This is only enough to do one side on each fan. 12 screws included. ... show more
