I want to give an honest and balanced review on this mat because I think there are some genuinely good things about it but also some things that potential buyers need to know before purchasing. I am a stylist and being on my feet for long periods of time is just part of the job so finding a good anti fatigue mat that actually does what it says it does is really important to me. I had been dealing with tired and achy feet after long days and I was hoping this mat would make a real difference in my day to day comfort level. Starting with the positives because there are some real ones here. The mat actually did help with standing fatigue which is the most important thing I needed it to do. After standing on it for a while I noticed my feet and legs were not as tired as they usually get so in that sense it is doing its job. The size is also really good for the space I needed to cover and I appreciated that it stayed in place on the floor without sliding around constantly. That is a bigger deal than people think because a mat that keeps moving is more of a hazard than a help. The cushioning is also decent and provides a noticeable difference compared to standing on a hard floor with nothing underneath you. Now here is where I have to be real because these two things genuinely affected my experience. First the mat is noticeably thinner than it looked in the product photos. When it arrived I was pretty surprised because based on the pictures I was expecting something with a lot more thickness and density to it. It is not flat by any means but if you are someone who needs heavy duty cushioning for long standing sessions you might find yourself a little disappointed like I was. The photos are a bit misleading in that regard and I wish the brand was more transparent about the actual thickness measurements in the listing. The second issue is the smell. When I first opened the package the odor was really strong and it took a while to air out before it was comfortable to use in my space. This is something a lot of people might not think about when ordering a mat but if you are sensitive to smells or you are setting this up in a small enclosed space just know that you will need to let it air out for a good amount of time before it is ready to use comfortably. It did eventually go away but it was definitely noticeable at first. Overall I would say this mat is okay for the price and it does serve its basic purpose but there is room for improvement. Three stars feels fair because it helped with what I needed but the thickness and the smell were real drawbacks that I could not ignore. 🦶🏽✨
