    • Good little speaker.
This speaker has really helped us, we can now hear the TV much better. Never understood why they put the speakers in the back of these new TVs. Now we can hear and understand what is on the TV. We used the optical connection. The special cord it takes came with the speaker. Nice cabinet and sound is very good for the price. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

    • Decent sound and control
Was attracted to the Saiyin for features, appearance and design. Update: A replacement speaker was sent, which worked much better and as expected. It happens that some bad units get past QC, which is understandable. But then one expects customer service to assist, when requested. In this situation, Saigon CS was there and always responsive. The only downside to this speaker is that it can only be controlled by its own remote, rather than a universal. (It's possible that a learning remote may be okay, but I have just a basic remote that requires codes). All in all, please with this speaker. Original: Although the unit powered up, and the TV was set to either HDMI or Optical output, the Saiyin sounded like a jackhammer going off. Volume control would lower the volume, but this was the only sound coming from the speaker. ... show more

We are using this as a speaker for our Xbox. We have watched movies through it and whatnot (not just video games) This thing puts amazing sound: crisp highs and respectable lows. Surround sound is fantastic. Is it as good as actual surround sound? No. But it is an acceptable alternative. Now I have to con the wife into letting me have it. ... show more

    • Absolutely worth the money. A utility speaker.
This is a great yet cheap multi function speaker. It's sold and advertised as a soundbar. That is true but it functions better as a Bluetooth speaker. Music sounds terrific with good highs and mids and good enough bass that in a smaller room I wouldn't even consider a sub. Now the part about it being a soundbar seems like a bonus of sorts. It has optical coax aux and HDMI ARC. I immediately tried BT music then took it to my TV. Found an HDMI cord that supported ARC. Connected it to the TV. Turned everything off then on then went into tv settings to turn those speakers off. Turned dolby anything off. Turned it off then on again. Works. The key is to turn everything on and off. My hdmi cable I know is faulty and sometimes the sound cuts out randomly but it's easy to fix . I fix it by using the remote for the soundbar to turn it off then on. It's a theme. Takes 15 seconds. Anyways. Worth it. ... show more

    • No audio just screeching noise
Was really excited about this speaker. Especially when it went on sale! But I guess now I know why… I tried 2 different HDMI’s, the audio cables it comes with, and a headphone Jack cord and none of them worked. The only sound produced was a terrible screeching noise. Spoke with Amazon and they sent a replacement the next day but still the same outcome. No sound just screeching white noise. If anyone has any solutions please let me know! ... show more

    • It's all about the style
Great looking wood case. The audio is better than most TV speakers. I was expecting much better performance. But it is short on the power of the volume. The bass is somewhat lacking. Seems like the price is more for the outside appearance over the internal audio components.

    • Don't expect "Audiophile", but very well put together for the price!
I ordered this sound bar for the tv in my bedroom, so I wasn't looking for an audiophile component. I just wanted better sound than the tinny television speakers. This unit provides very smooth sound, with surprising bass capabilities — certainly better than I need for a tv that I just go to sleep to at night. Before it arrived, I anticipated needing a small subwoofer to go with it, but that is totally unnecessary. This thing pulls its own weight. The fit and finish on this sound bar are amazing! It looks and feels solid. Extremely handsome — not cheap-looking in the slightest! I had a frustrating time pairing the Bluetooth to my tv initially, but that was probably just me doing something stupid. . . technology isn't my gig. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy this unit again! I think I paid about $50 for it. . . I'd pay more for it if I needed another. Very well executed product. ... show more
