OK, this is a preliminary review ... since I just got this in the door and set it up. It was very easy to set up and figure out. I used to have a pretty hot receiver, turntable, amplifier system back in the last century when music was a much bigger concern for me - so the point is I know what a good sound system sounds like. Since that time I've mostly listened to music in my car, or live, or through my ear buds and I've enjoyed that, but at home I just listen on my computer mostly. I'd forgotten how nice it is to hear decent quality stereo with separation of the speakers. I have some nice Bose computer speakers and they sound pretty good, but these news speakers are great. I can plug them into my iMac, or listen through Bluetooth from my iPhone, and they really are good. With Bluetooth and a remote control too. I am a happy camper today. To be honest, this does not have the range or power to rattle the windows, but for the price this is a best buy for me, and I heartily recommend these to meet a need for good speakers on a budget. If or when things change for me I will come back and amend my review, but most electronic stuff I've bought has lasted forever pretty much. ... show more

Pretty darn good for the price. I needed a pair of small powered speakers for my office. I didn't want to spend a lot and these had good reviews. Hooking them up was such a breeze and I love that they had speaker wire included. I got these to use strictly with Bluetooth, primarily using Spotify. Initial sound was a bit muddy, like some reviews said. However, I messed with the equalizer in the Spotify app and made a custom blend. It sounds great. Even at low volumes it has a nice rich sound. Liked them so much I bought a pair for our bedroom at home. Really solid design and a nice color that goes well in any room, IMO. Remote is nice, too and makes it handy to mute quickly when I get a call at work. Some people said it doesn't power off, but it does. There is one small red light that's always on, but the speaker itself is not actually "on." Some people complain about the lights being on the front, but I found it a non-issue. Great speakers for the money. We were listening to tv speakers for so long that when we plugged these in the sound finally had dimension. Bluetooth is quirky. I use the optical port for tv and haven’t had any issues. Also put blackout tape to over the lights as they got distracting while watching tv. ... show more

Ten+ years ago these would have been $1000 speakers, rather than the under-$100 now. I bought these for my mother: such to help break her addiction to subtitles, which it did, when they worked. She has a soundbar, which sounds like crap: they all do, the older you get, hence the attempted upgrade. However, the Bluetooth kept dropping out (from her streaming stick), having to reengage it every day or so. Not acceptable: her barely knowing how, that and the nuisance-factor disrupting normal operations. There were no optical/headphone/RCA outs from that tv, (only HDMI-ARC,) had to abandon the idea, related to these speakers. On the plus side, they were now mine. Connectivity– Excellent, if compatible with your gear. Lots of choices for input. The subwoofer-out is a nice touch: though I find that isn't necessary when used nearby. It ‘booms’ well enough on its own to fill a small(er) room. Could use an HDMI-ARC input: should anyone want it connected to their tv, to replace their crappy soundbar. Sound– I was impressed. Good enough to break an old lady of her dependence on subtitles, for a spell. They wound up on my desktop: providing more than enough audio. I bought another pair for my child, for their other home: good enough to drown out the noise of their step-family, while not annoying those in the adjacent bedrooms. Occasionally, I get that plastic-resonant sound (you get when using plastic tweeters) but only on the left speaker. I tightened the screws and it abated a bit. Lights– Flash way too fast, slow it down, please. Also, I put a layer of electrical tape over the lights as they were way too bright. Angle– Depending upon your desktop, I might recommend risers: such to point them straight at your ears. In my case, I stuck some inch-thick rubber feet under the front-face to angle it, rather than buying the $50+ foam risers. Overall– These are excellent under-$100 nearfield/bookshelf/desktop speakers. ... show more
