20+ years ago my mother bought a lot of Thomas trains and sets for my then-new son. We had so many toys at the time we just packed the Thomas stuff away and joked that we'd save them for our grandkids. Fast forward and now we have two new grandsons so we got everything out for them to play with but couldn't find the trains, only the track sets. We took a gamble and ordered this set. We were impressed with the quality and perfectly happy with the purchase and then last week we found the original Thomas trains! So now we're able to do a direct comparison and can confirm that they all play well together and everything works well on the tracks. This new "non official" set doesn't have any names or faces but they all look nice and work fine and I especially like that the wheels swivel so they turn even better than the originals. Recommended

This is not a museum quality piece, but it is exactly what I wanted. Probably won't last very long. Grandsons are rough on toys, but it is surprisingly strong. It pulls all the other cars easily. Only down side is that the wheels fit the track width just fine, but the length of the wheels causes the train to jump the track on tight turns. Avoid the tight turns and this is a great little addition to a favorite toy.

I got this train for my kids train set. It definitely feels higher quality and more solid than some of the more "plastic-y" toy trains out there. It's also a bit faster and more powerful than some of the other ones I've seen. Unfortunately, my 2 y/o son found a way to pull off one of the tires and we lost it. Without the tire, the train lost some of its traction making it hard to go over hills - the wheels kept slipping. I emailed support to see if I could get a replacement tire. Not only were they super responsive and professional, but they sent a new train! I like the train - I was wowed by the support!

Grandson loves them! Great detail, well made, heavy, not cheap looking. He was getting a little frustrated when he was trying to get the opposite ends to magnetize but a learning experience for him.
