  • Great Machine
I love this machine. It is so fun. I have been so impressed with their AI and personal customer service. Had a noisey fan after about a month and they replaced it right away. I would defintely recommend to anyone starting out.

  • Very Accurate CNC!!!
The Goods: The assembly was very quick and easy. After doing a through review and calibration check of the X, Y and Z axis. I found this machine to be very accurate (~.01mm) with minimal backlash! This CNC seems like a very durable and highly capable machine. I will be doing additional testing in the near future. But so far things feel very solid and accurate. The Bads: (but maybe some good...) During calibration and tolerance checks I found that the provided router had a whopping .3mm runout!!! I was able to email support and after providing a short video of the runout they very quickly sent me a replacement at no cost. I was very happy with the support that was provided from Sainsmart to quickly resolve this issue. The new router is well within acceptable tolerance and will allow me to continue testing. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and it seems like a very capable CNC for the value. ... show more

  • Extremely unsafe for Beginners
This CNC machine is capable of producing clean engraving and accurate cutouts once everything is set up correctly. Assembly was straightforward, and with enough time spent learning the workflow, it can deliver decent results. However, I do not recommend this machine due to a serious safety concern that is not obvious to new users. There is very little margin for error when cutting all the way through material. If your workpiece is positioned directly above the machine bed or T-tracks, even small variations in material thickness or Z height can cause the bit to cut deeper than expected. In my experience, this brought the cutter dangerously close to contacting metal components beneath the work surface. A spinning cutter striking metal can result in immediate tool damage and unpredictable machine behavior. This creates a real risk of broken bits, and in some cases the bit can snap under load, which could potentially injure the operator. It can also lead to shifting material or debris being thrown, which adds to the overall hazard. The machine offers very little forgiveness in a critical part of the cutting process. Because of this lack of safety margin during full cut-through operations, I cannot recommend this machine, especially for beginners. It can produce good results, but only with additional setup and precautions that are not clearly addressed upfront. If you do choose to use it, make sure you implement a proper spoilboard and take extra care when setting Z height before attempting any full cut-through cuts. ... show more

  • Great CNC Machine for the money!
I purchased this machine a couple of months ago and other than testing it briefly, just got it up and running. I previously had another machine that gave me all kinds of grief so this is my second machine. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! This tool is way more stable and smooth. Some people seem concerned with the smaller stepper motors but I have not had any issue with them cutting anything of reasonable size so far. The spindle motor is a beast compared to my last one. It is so smooth and powerful that I purchased a hand held router kit made by the same company that uses the exact same motor. (I will review it later). The machine came very well boxed and packed. Assembly was easy as it came as mostly assembled modules. All of the tools required were included as well as a few accessories. The included software was pretty typical of any of these machines but certainly adequate to get started carving. I am SO glad that I spent the extra money to get the pro MAX version of this CNC machine. It was well worth the money! ... show more

  • Easy assembly, easy to use
Shipping has some issues but received to late with no damage other than the box. Easy assembly, start up and first use were also easy. YouTube has many videos on this brand of machines if you get stuck. I have had the machine for 6 months or so and still running great. Size is a little small if your looking to do shop shelves or cabinetry. Good for small pieces and those just getting started. Have used everything from easel to freecad to carveco to vectric so any software you decide to use should work fine. ... show more

  • Good starter CNC
Great product and good customer service. This is a very good starter CNC machine for both wood and light metal. Precision is good. Few complaint is about the other accessories like wifi module and dust shoe. If connected directly to a PC it works perfectly, but the wifi module is very unstable, it need to reconnect every time. For zeroth calibration this is very tedious thing to do with wifi. After, one axis calibration if wifi module lost its signal the whole process just wasted. This become worse if you are using multiple tool for a single job. During tool change once wifi signal lost the zeroth calibration lost altogether. Direct PC connection do work good, but due to dust issue this is also not being the best option. The dust shoe sold separately as a accessories does not do a good enough job that could prevent dusting goes into the PC. But overall when it works it really do a good job on wood carving. It has enough power to carve most of the common type of wood with good precision. Customer care is good, they responed promptly. This is very noisy machine though, but that is what you expect with open concept CNC. Using for 6 months now, it is working fine. ... show more

  • Excellent CNC Router
Seems like a very solid well built machine. It took about 45 minutes to unpack and assemble. Please note that the y axis motors (0n left and right rails) need to be plugged into the corresponding connectors. This is overlooked in the manual. I used Easel design software to download the necessary drivers and started practicing engravings and inlays. I found that using a tolerance of 0.002 inch for inlay projects on Easel leads to a better fit between male and female parts with no gaps. ... show more

  • Great after solving initial problems
Received this item July 3rd, 2025, but held off on review because of problems encountered with limit switches and gSender software. First, limit switches. After a successful setup and a few test runs, the x-axis limit switches locked in tripped mode and Homing failed to work. Contacted Amazon for help and they informed me that I must contact Genmitsu direct and contact them (Amazon) again if Genmitsu failed to solve the problem. The Amazon agent promised to follow up in a week, but FAILED to do so. In the meantime, I contacted Genmitsu (Sainsmart) via email as they are in China and several hours behind us. They were cooperative but did not have a resolution. However, they did offer a replacement or refund if I wanted to return. I decided to try to resolve the problem myself and traced the circuit to the circuit board mounted to the rear of the X-axis. By disconnecting and reconnecting the connector for the x-axis, the problem went away. The unit then worked great but after a bit the circuit failed again. This happened a few times with reports going back to Sainsmart each time. After carefully squeezing the pins on the connector it seemed the problem was corrected. In the meantime, since I was willing to troubleshoot on my own, Sainsmart sent me a package of spare parts for free. It took a few weeks, but it's working fine now. Second problem. I used gSender version 1.5.1 to control the cnc because I prefer the interface over UGS which is supplied with the unit. The problem was that the machine would only run for a minute or so and then Halt. Sainsmart was not able to help with this problem so I did some experimenting using other software and and found the the same gCode running on Universal gCode Sender (USG) ran without a problem. Turns out, gSender defaults to grblHAL if it doesn't recognize the machine and the Genmitsu only recognizes grbl. Switchint gSender to grbl solved this problem. At first, I was quite upset with my purchase, but am happy with my 4040 Pro Max after resolving my problems. Actually, I learned so much in the process that I am kind of glad it happened this way. Amazon is usually helpful in solving problems, but in this case they flopped and Sainsmart was the winner. ... show more
