Features

  • The machine supports the addition of a 4-axis rotation module kit. This 4-axis kit allows your 4040-PRO desktop CNC to carve from different angles and positions or perform complete 3D rotary carving with the appropriate software.
  • Enhanced Steel HSS Frame: Built with an all-new high-rigidity structure, the frame features 16mm Steel HSS linear tubes, a lead screw motion drive, dual Y-axis rails, and a full metal frame. This design ensures improved stability and precision for your milling projects.
  • Upgraded Electronics: Powered by open-source Grbl v1.1, the machine now includes silent Toshiba TB6S109 drivers with 32-bit chips for smoother and quieter operation. Additional function ports, such as the Air Assistance Pump Port and MPG Port, expand its versatility. Customers can also order the updated motherboard (B0D1BZW5LY) for wireless module compatibility, enabling seamless wireless control.
  • Quick Assembly: Pre-assembled main parts make setup a breeze, taking only 15 minutes to complete. The spoilboard is divided into two replaceable MDF panels, so you can replace individual panels instead of the entire board when damaged.
  • Customizable and Expandable: The machine comes with 42mm and 52mm spindle mounts, while optional 65mm (B0BRZSY475) and 69mm (B0BRZSVVK3) spindle mounts are available for purchase. Additional accessories allow for easy upgrades to meet your specific needs. For guidance, visit the SainSmart Resource Centre or contact customer support.

  • This Machine Opens New Doors
This is a very solid CNC machine for woodworkers like myself who are looking to dip their toe into the world of CNC, as well as for more advanced creators who are limited by space or budget. The number of ways this machine (and others like it) can up your game is simply staggering. It’s not just a carving or cutting tool, it’s a gateway to hundreds of creative possibilities. That said, I do think this machine, as sold here, is a bit incomplete. There are several upgrades available from SainSmart that really take it to the next level. I chose to extend the working capacity, upgraded to a much more powerful spindle, and added a dust shroud for cleaner operation. I also went with third-party software to better suit my workflow. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the performance and capabilities of this machine. My only gripe is that the wire management could be better and the 2-piece "spoil board" needs work, but that’s a small tradeoff for the value and versatility you get here. ... show more

  • Great starter machine but be prepared to upgrade depending your needs
For the price of this machine, you really can’t go wrong for an entry level CNC. I had to give 4 stars for just a couple reasons: - the spindle included is good for absolutely nothing but engraving in my opinion and for my needs. Immediately upgrade to their “clone” of a router that actually has been great - the Z Axis is just a mess, it is weak and there is much room for improvement. Looking at the XL, I wish I would have went with that now and I probably would have saved money from the upgrades I’ve made - SainSmart customer service has been pretty tough to get ahold of for my few issues BUT once I have been able to get a response, they have been top notch service. That being said I would buy from SainSmart again and plan to do so. - set up was fairly simple but double check everything!!! - this is my first CNC router so I don’t have much to compare to but I feel the motors and especially the limit switches could have been made much better and i am more than sure I will be running into limit switch issues very soon and there isn’t much out there for how to replace that I have found. Overall, great machine to get into the hobby/business and I would absolutely recommend the Genmitsu 4040 pro from SainSmart. The SainSmart ecosystem also somewhat reminds me of Apple and I will say that it is tough to not spend money on their store site on all of the little accessories and upgrades for this awesome little machine! ... show more

  • My first cnc machine. Well made and well supported.
This cnc machine is fantastic for anyone getting started. This machine is well supported and there is a lot of information available online to get you started. There are also lots of review videos available online on youtube to review before purchasing. I will not go into detail since so much information is already available. There are some additional accessory items you may want to purchase to make it more usable long term. You may also want to upgrade the spindle motor to a more powerful motor once you get into the hobby. Overall, I highly recommend this cnc for the price, quality, and community support. ... show more

  • Very Nice
This is a very good quality starter cnc machine. This is ready to go for basic woodwork like ornaments and engraved signs. Assembly is easy. You can customize this quote a bit. There are better spindles, a rotary attachment, wifi attachment, etc. In a way, this is a slippery slope; you'll likely want to expand the base offering. For starting out, this is a great start/intro into cnc at home. This is a good size, and it functions great. Overall this seems like a good value. ... show more

  • CNC
As my first CNC machine, it took me a little over an hour to set up. The manual for assembly are detailed with written and photo instructions. However, there is very little instruction for how to use the included software. It comes with two blades and words well for thin projects or engraving. However, you would need to spend at least another $80-100 on accessories or bits to do other projects. I would also recommend getting the dust system. ... show more

  • Decent CNC, terrible guidance
The media could not be loaded. The overall quality of material seems pretty sturdy and pieces fit together cleanly. Once assembled though the instructions become pretty useless. Especially as someone new to CNC machines or was utterly unclear what to do just to get started. I recommend finding some videos online as even sainsmart website had nothing helpful. The kit comes with a zprobe tool and no useful instructions on how to use it, so I'm using the same z calibration I would for a 3D printer, close enough to surface for a thin sheet of paper to feel friction. The 3 bits included are all very basic surface cutting blades, and you'll need to buy more to do anything deeper then engraving. Comes with a primitive gcode management app for Windows and Mac, I'm looking for one that's more user friendly though. Overall I'm pleased to have one, it cuts clean lines, minimal burrs are left. I wish there was a vacuum attachment though as currently the exposed components get covered in saw dust. ... show more
