So hard to find a nice bird bath heater. Some work for a little bit and then stop. This has been working all winter! It is very durable and a great value for the money. The product comes with an internal temperature control and seems to adjust to what is needed so your water does not freeze. I bought this to help keep my bird bath free of ice this winter. It did a great job, even when the temp was below zero F. It's very durable and well built. The cable is nice and thick. The water temperature was warm enough to keep the bird bath ice free all winter. It's a good value for the price. It was easy to install in my bird bath and it fit well once I was able to bend the cable to fit the side of my bird bath. The birds love it. I had a lot of action by my feeders and the bird bath all winter long. The birds didn't take long to find it.

This little heater kept my birdbath from freezing over until we hit 0°F last night. Price is good definitely keeps the birds happy when the ground is covered in 2 feet of snow would recommend to any backyard Bird enthusiast because food is not enough during the winter they need water too just plug it in. Make sure you have a deep birdbath as the stone has to be completely covered to work properly.

This heater performed magnificently during one of the coldest winters we've had in a while. We had sustained temps in the single digits for several days running and there was always at least a one-foot thawed circle in the middle of the birdbath. I like also that it stays put on the bottom of the birdbath. It's so solidly-built it seems like it will last for many years. If I remember correctly, the instructions say that it will turn off around 40 degrees. This is apparently not true, but it does turn off at some point so it's not using power when the water is already warm.

Almost immediately after installing, this product was not up to the task. The edges of the bird bath had ice, and at temps that were not super cold either (high 20s). It seemed to struggle with windy days. Now, after only 2 months of use it is frozen solid. I cleaned the bird bath yesterday, filled with fresh water and reinstalled the unit. Works well, kept birdbath water from freezing most of the time. In single digit temps, the water did tend to freeze along the outer radius of the birdbath, but the center where the heater sat stayed liquid.
