I was at a winter event and a guest pulled the handle instead of pressing it down to open the screen. Snap! The plastic handle broke off the latch. This device was a direct replacement and vast improvement! I didn't even have to replace the striker or handle latch. It actually works better than the original because it is much more solid and latches both to the door for easy opening or to the striker when the door is open to hold the screen closed. It installed easily and quickly in the same holes as the original latch. Even if your screen door latch isn't broken, consider upgrading to this aluminum replacement.

Installation on my travel trailer was quick and straightforward. I bought this to replace the cheap plastic OEM latch that came from the factory, and the difference is noticeable right away. The aluminum construction feels much more solid and durable, and it gives the door a better overall feel when opening and closing. Everything fit as expected and the hardware worked well. If your factory latch is worn out, broken, or just feels flimsy, this is a worthwhile upgrade.

The OEM plastic latch body on my screen door has broken and been glued several times. I finally got tired of fixing it and bought this one. The body is aluminum and looks like it will never break. It also is very nicely finished. Definitely worth the cost premium over the plastic options. The package includes screws, and new striker plate, and keeper. The screws are larger in diameter than the original screws, so I did not use them. Did not use the remaining parts either because the originals seem adequate, but they also appear to be of better quality than the originals. When ordering, note that the terms 'right' and 'left' refer to which side of the door is hinged, not the location of the handle, so the 'Right Handle' model goes on the left edge of the door and vice versa.

The hardware has different holes, so you will have to redrill holes. The product is metal and very well made. Much tighter hold on the screen door than the original.

Worked great for my travel trailer. The holes matched and did not need to drill new holes. The screws were a little thicker and had to drill bigger holes but could use the old screws. It has cushion for each piece and even the screws for a tighter fit. I liked that it is metal and sturdier than the plastic one that came with the trailer.

Update: the seller was great! It appears that Google was incorrect on helping us determine which orientation we needed. They said stand outside, facing the door and whichever side it's on is the one you need. I would now say, stand inside facing the door. 😉 The seller reached out and worked closely with me to figure out the problem. They refunded my cost for the first one. I ordered the rt hand one and it works perfectly! I am very pleased with the outcome and would definitely purchase from this company again if I ever need another one! Customer service is outstanding! Well, it kinda works... but it won't stay latched. I don't know if the right handed one is better, but this one doesn't stay latched. We have 2 cats and they can just bump it open. It was easy to install, but the part that catches on the latch appears to be backwards. We double checked before ordering to make sure we got the correct orientation. When facing the door on the outside, the latch is on the left side. Hopefully you can see the problem in the picture and video. I tried showing it as clearly as I could. It does seem pretty sturdy, even though it's plastic. I would definitely not purchase another. I considered purchasing from another company, but they all seem to have the same problem.

I was looking for a replacement for my RV broken door latch. This is made of aluminum and I think it will last far longer than the cheap junk manufacturers put in today’s RV’s. Quality item.
