Many shoes on Amazon are listed as slip-resistant when they are not. I can confirm that the soles on these shoes are slip-resistant. The fabric of the shoe is made of a light mesh-like material, which is noticeably breathable when moving quickly. The steel toe feels decently solid, albeit a bit thin, probably to keep the weight down. The insole of the shoe is not held in by anything, and often slips out when removing the shoe, but is easily slipped back in place. This boot truly is a life saver. I work 9-12hr shifts where steel toe boots are mandatory and am on my feet the entire time. No matter what boot i tried my feet would always still hurt after my shifts UNTIL I ordered these boots!!!. They are sooo comfortable and extremely lightweight but durable. I usually wear Xero shoes because I have problem with my feet, but I needed steel-toed boots for work (truck driver) and wanted something that I could drive in and feel the pedal under my feet. These boots are so light weight, it's like I'm barefoot, and they fit me PERFECTLY. I like to wear heavy socks in the winter and I can wear these with or without the socks. No need to break them in. Not as comfortable for me. I read the reviews and a lot of reviews said how comfortable these are. I work as a flagger and I'm constantly on my feet. And I have worn these for a week. I was really hoping these would be comfortable and help but I'm going to keep looking. I believe these are true to size. I think they are lighter than the average steel toe. I can't really tell if these are cooler in the heat compared to my other steel toes. But I am really bummed I wanted them to be comfortable one person said it was like walking on clouds.
