I tried this lock after other failed toddler locks, clips, latches, magnet child locks, rubber bands, rope, I even used duct tape. Kids are clever and will figure out a way to get what they want. The failed attempts required us to screw in hardware, use sticky adhesives, or using magnets to unlock items. The magnet locks are a good idea until you loose the magnet. On a good note, the adhesives did not damage the wood to the cabinets or the metal to the fridge, but they did not keep a then, 1 year old boy, out. We used these to latch around the fridge and cabinets ( we have knobs and use them to latch around). So far with success. Our child is now over 2 1/2 years old and they are still working. I would say that if your are going to use this for knobs be sure you have deep knobs or your child will be able to slide the lock off. The bathroom knobs we have are short and stubby and this did not work for them. Our kitchen know were larger and this was not problem (they stick out over 1 inch). If you have short knobs, I would recommend the the 2 loop zip ties cabinet lock. A little more pricey but they also work. ... show more

This worked great- My children (2 and 4 year olds) haven't figured out how to open it, but it's really easy for an adult to open. A lot of "kid proof" stuff are "adult proof" as well, but not this product. I put it through the handles of the medicine cabinet in our bathroom and it gives me so much peace of mind. I know that the little kids are not going to get into the medicines as long as this is on. I only gave it 4 stars because, A. it doesn't seem like it will last a long time, and B. I haven't ever used it on knobs, just handles, so I don't know how well it works with knobs. Still, it's a great buy. ... show more

Great product, they are completely child proof. We had the completely opposite experience of the other review. These worked great for us. Very effective in preventing our 16 month old boy from getting into the cabinets. We have the trendy steel bars that are on modern cabinets these days and since they are adjustable they lock tight enough for them to completely prevent any movement or just enough to reach your hand into the cabinet to throw some trash away. We use them in the bathrooms and the kitchen bought about 15 of them for both our house and his grandparent's. Great find. ... show more

Our family couldn't survive without these for our cabinets in the kitchen. They keep the kids out. They are also great for random things such as a baby gate to lock it at night. We use one to lock a gate at the top of stairs to prevent any wanderers at night from accidentally falling down the stairs. Works. Don't buy one, but a couple- you'll need them. ... show more

This product works ok. The knobs in our kitchen were slightly too small for this to function on but we had another location with handles that it worked fine with. Overall it was decent to utilize but still requires two hands to operate making it more inconvenient.

I should have read the reviews before I bought one of these. My wife was excited at first because she was able to use the buttons that loosen and tighten the lock with little difficulty, a problem she had with the last lock she bought for the same area. But, once she put it on, she saw that our knobs are not long enough for this lock to work properly, and she was easily able to remove it without unlocking it. ... show more
