Ugh. Even though it’s a good rug, I really wish the biggest rug manufacturer in the world could figure out how to make a rug the size that they say it’ll be! How hard can that be? The 9’x12’ rug is actually 8’9”x11’9”, and I really needed those missing inches. Otherwise, it’s soft underfoot and a pretty color. It’s a muted aqua that somehow has a sand-colored undertone without actually being a sand color, like looking at the seabed through tropical ocean water. I have a 3/8” felt rug pad underneath for extra comfort when we’re playing on the floor with the kids. It’s not as soft as the heavenly Nuloom Bernetta ombré rug I bought at first (which was also not big enough and was a heartbreaker to return). It feels soft when you step on it, but not that soft on your hand. At least it’s softer than the Nourison Passion rug I tried buying. This Safavieh rug is like a medium plush level—not as plush as a wool IKEA rug we had for years, but better than the low pile Nourison. I’m glad we have the thick rug pad. Delivery was smooth also—it’s not the regular Amazon driver, but a big Amazon delivery truck with a team of guys bringing it into your house. I read the reviews and I can tell you my rug came rolled up. No seams or folds. The color is exactly like the picture and is perfect for my room. I have zero complaints as I find this to be perfect! It is exactly like the site describes.

I bought a 9 x 9 rug and returned it, and now the 9 x 12 has the same issue. They are NOT 9 feet wide/long! They are about 8 ft 8 inches. They are about 4 inches short of 9 feet. In some cases, that may not matter. But I have a room that is EAXCTLY 9 feet wide, and I wanted a 9 foot rug to cover the width of the floor. Read the reviews carefully! Color is great. Material is top quality. Feels great to walk on barefoot, while being durable and thick. This would get 5-star rating if only Safavieh were more exact with their measurements. ... show more

At first, I wasn't so sure about this shade of blue. But, I let it sit out for a few days and ended up loving it. Easy to clean, and keeps the room grounded. :) Very pleased with this purchase.

    • So Smelly! and did not stay beautiful for long.
I was so excited to get this rug and don't get me wrong, it's super soft under my feet but from the second I unrolled it, it reeks. It smells kind of like burning tires or something equally as gross. It's so bad that I can smell it all the way upstairs! Of course, it's summer otherwise I would open the windows to try to get some fresh air to help dissipate the smell. I have now owned this rug for almost a year, the smell did eventually go away but also the beautiful sheen the carpet had when new also went away! The parts of the rug that are under my couch are still a beautiful rich blue with the gorgeous sheen, but the parts that are not under the couch (most of the rug) has become dull and flat in color. The areas look like two different rugs next to each other! It's disappointing that after not even a year of ownership, this rug did not hold up and I already want to get rid of it. ... show more
