Description

Add rich texture and natural character to your space with this handwoven rug from SAFAVIEH’s Natural Fiber Collection. Crafted from a durable blend of jute and coir coconut fiber, its chunky half-inch weave creates depth and dimension for a relaxed, earthy look that complements styles from coastal and farmhouse to modern boho. Each rug is individually handcrafted, resulting in subtle variations in color and size that highlight its artisanal quality. Designed without a backing for a flexible, authentic feel, this rug offers both durability and visual warmth. Natural plant fibers may shed and carry a mild earthy scent upon arrival, both of which are normal and will diminish over time; sprouting may also occur and loose fibers should be trimmed with scissors rather than pulled. For best performance, use a rug pad to enhance stability and protect floors. To clean, shake out regularly and vacuum on a low setting without a beater bar, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to help maintain its appearance.

  • Amazing!
Size: 2' x 3' (Rectangular) Color: Natural
I love this rug so much! The coloring is beautiful! It blends with my floor very nicely. It will not show any dirt. It is easy to clean as dirt just falls right through it. It's thick and chunky and cool looking. I did put a nonskid pad under it as my senior dog jumps up on the bed from it. It took a few days to get used to walking on those knots barefoot but it's totally worth it. I way prefer this to those fuzzy fleece feeling rugs. And with shoes on, it feels cushiony and thick. Fantastic! And safevieh makes quality rugs at a decent price. ... show more

  • Excellent jute runner.
Size: 2'3" x 9' (Runner) Color: Natural
Very rich looking. I purchased the same item at Home Depot for twice the money, same manufacturer. Received from Amazon excellent product at a great price.

The most beautiful rug I own. When I think JUTE, this is what I expect them to look like! It’s incredible!

  • It's a Superior Jute Rug
Size: 10' x 14' (Rectangular) Color: Natural
I read so many reviews and looked at so many rugs both online and at stores, and was nervous to pull the trigger, as we needed the large size, 10 x 14. We've had jute rugs before, including in this family room which is an 18 x 32 foot space. When we opened this rug there was no smell. NOT AT ALL. It unrolled and we haven't vacuumed it after two days, there was no debris. It feels great to your feet in socks, though not so great in bare feet. We did order a pad for it, a 1/4 inch pad, and will put it under when it gets here soon. Did I mention the rug came four days early? I was thrilled (but it only had to come from two counties over). I suggest the farther you're shipping the more wear on the rug wrapping, obviously. It came on a rainy day with those dessicant things (anti-moisture packets) rolled up in it, wrapped entirely in plastic. We just could not be more pleased with this rug and the value. Our previous jute rug was from a furniture store and we probably paid four times more for it at least. Recommend this rug highly, IF you're looking for that designer look with the chunky texture it brings to a big room. I will report back if it wears very quickly or puts out more than normal "dirt" below. I expect a little of that from natural fiber rugs and this is a high traffic area. But for the $ I think it's a great value! ... show more

  • Looks Expensive, Soft, Easy to Clean
Size: 2' x 3' (Rectangular) Color: Natural
I bought two for covered porches, and they have been great. One is in front of my front door and I just shake it out every few weeks for the perfect mat to catch anything clinging to shoes. No stains or problems yet. The other is on back covered porch with similar success. They are nicer looking than what I used to buy - choir mats - and much easier to care for. These let dirt fall through to surface below which then can be swept up or vacuumed, whereas choir doormats are heavy and collect dirt on surface. Usually when I vacuum, I just open the front door and get what's under the jute rug. Then a quick shake and front of house nice and clean. I have an old brown shingled house with black trim and wood door and think the tan of these rugs are a nice contrast. I'm not sure about using inside, but they could be good for a rustic look. They are a little primitive - or maybe raw is a better word, but for outside, a perfect fit. Just make sure a screen door, for instance, will open over them, because these rugs are pretty thick! ... show more

  • Natural - (not always good) can be poison ivy; or a dense layer of mud like dust on the floor beneath, coming from this rug.
Size: 5' x 5' (Square) Color: Natural
When I first received this rug I rolled it out in the kitchen. Within a couple days it was nicely laying flat. It was little stiff on my bare feet at first, but I either got used to it or it actually softened, not sure which. It was a couple weeks at that point and I would've easily given the rug 5 stars, but now I am coming up on have the rug between 3 and 4 weeks and I am giving it 3 stars because I found dense dust that almost seems like the jute fibers came from swamp mud. I pulled the rug up and cleaned the wood floor thoroughly and placed the rug back down. I used multiple damp white paper towels to clean the floor and I almost couldn't believe how much dried mud dirt there was. Entire paper towel solid brown. I could've used a broom and made a pile of the dirt, but it would've just pushed some of the dust into the air and in my opinion made things worse. Keep in mind, I live by myself, have not had company and do not where shoes inside my home. I keep a clean home and am having difficulty thinking I spent money to bring in such a dirty thing to place on my beautiful wood floors. I would send it back except I've thrown all the packaging away and I want to own my decision by overcoming this problem. Hopefully just cleaning up the floor a couple more times and the jute will have dropped all it's dirt particles. I would only place on hard surface floor and would never consider this rug for over carpet. I looked up the difference between jute and sisal and if I could find the right color I believe I would go with sisal if given another opportunity. ... show more

  • The best jute rug!
Size: 2'3" x 13' (Runner) Color: Natural
I have purchased several of these rugs and have never been disappointed. This rug is thick & chunky so it lays flat without any raised corner problems. It is soft enough to walk on in bare feet---maybe a few stiff fibers at first, but after a week or so, the rug adjusts. I shake and vacuum the rug outside before bringing it in to alleviate the normal "settling and shedding" of rug/dirt particles that just are part of using natural jute. For normal cleaning, they are easily vacuumed (on "flat surface setting"---not "carpet setting") but they really don't show dirt. I use a thin non-slip rug pad to prevent any crawling. Jute rugs complement so many decorating styles and the natural color works well with most decor. Safavieh offers the best value for rugs that I have found. I trust them for description, color, quality, size, and value. Can't ask for more. ... show more

  • Don’t do it
Size: 8' x 10' (Rectangular) Color: Natural
I have to be honest I have never written a bad review and I’m not happy doing so so let me be clear. The rug is beautiful. The issue is I cannot use it because the dust and dirt that comes off of it. 24 /7 is destroying my new hardwood floor floors. Again the rug is aesthetically beautiful but I have tried vacuuming it. It’s very very heavy so trying to shake it outside is difficult. My husband and I try but what it leaves all over the floor is a total total nightmare. ... show more
