I read all reviews before making this purchase. The quality of this rug surpassed expectations. The weight is very nice. Texturing is subtle; just right for the space. Color is on the cool side. Ordered the 6’x9’ rectangular pink and ivory version and could not be more pleased! It exceeded my expectations upon unpacking and unrolling it!!! So, yes, I would recommend. The one I got smelled like a new carpet, so that’s also good. There is a note stating that depending on where it came from (e.g. warehouse, etc.) and the condition/quality of said environment, the rug would need time for the odor to dissipate. Again, I didn’t have any issues and the scent of a new carpet was quickly replaced by the scent of a candle I lit. I originally wanted another SAFAVIEH rug in the same color pattern but a different design, but it was unavailable, BUT I’m honestly so glad I went with this metro collection one. I can’t say whether the colors are “bright”, but to me, they are accurate and it looks amazing. Sizing is accurate as well. Thickness isn’t too bad and the rug is soft. It’s comfortable to walk on barefoot for me. I did vacuum over it a few times and I don’t think shedding will be an issue. Was shipped in plastic and no box. Arrived with a winch l-shaped rip/slice. I’ve been trying to get a hold of customer service to get a partial refund instead of having to go through the pain of shipping back with no luck. As for the rug itself, it’s beautiful. It has some jute in the fiber so it’s not very comfortable to sit on, but feels fine underfoot. No major smell when we opened it, flattened out relatively quickly. Sheds fine fibers. Does attract cat hair, but I’m too nervous to use a brush vacuum so I’ve been using the chom chom roller. ... show more

Very nice, thick rug! Soft, and adds some coziness to my daughters room! The rug is great quality and I appreciate the price for this rug, every other rug I looked at that was a natural fiber seemed like it would cost an arm and leg. Amazing quality for the money! Super thick, soft, fit, and looks high end. 100% wool, my dogs loved smelling it straight out of the box. It is thick and comfortable under feet. I'll be buying more for my bedroom rug, it feels so luxurious. Easy to clean as it doesn't absorb stain or dirt easily. It doesn't roll or stick up at the corners. We love the design and colors. We bought several rugs from Safevieh before and have been happy about their quality. However this one has a very rough surface. So our cats assumed that we bought them a giant scratch pad… We never had this kind of problem before… Also, unlike the previous Safevieh rugs this one has a bad (farm like) smell which did not fade away after a week. This is not an 8 foot rug. Although the colors and quality are great; this rug only measures 7 feet 5 inches. So it is 7 inches short. That’s a significant difference, not minor. I would have provided a 5 star review if I had received an 8 ft rug or at least within an inch of 8 feet.
