Really big, this rug has a light background that brightened a dark The pattern is faded brown geometric print that doesn’t look cheaply repetitive. Thin, so you may need a mat (I had one) but easy care, no shedding and really hides dirt.

This rug is not even close to 8 x 10 and the return process was such a burden! The rug appears to be good quality and was incredibly heavy, but when I went to lay it out on my 8 x 10 rug mat from my previous rug, it was not 8' across but more like 7' 6"! so much of my rug pad was sticking out in the middle of my living room and it was not possible to hide. I didn't attempt to unpackage it further than that because I feared the length would also be much shorter than 10'. I wanted to exchange it for the 10x10 but the manufacturer simply said it's the nature of their wool rugs to be off a little. This was NOT a little. When Safavieh wouldn't help, I went to Amazon's customer service but got a run around and ultimately had to stay home from work for the rug return pick-up because they insist an adult is home for the pick-up. That is ridiculous! I would not take a chance on this rug or rugs from this manufacturer and I will never order something large on Amazon again, if they expect me to stay home from work for the pick-up of any return!! ... show more

For the price, this rug is a really great value. It's incredibly plush, looks beautiful, and is thick enough that it doesn’t really need a rug pad.
