The rug was just what I wanted. Beautiful, vibrant colors. Soft to the touch. But then I noticed that the individual yarns kept coming out. For no reason. Just normal walking across the rug. I tried to vacuum and see if that helped. I thought maybe it would stop in time. Vacuumed twice. Filled up a vacuum-cleaner bag with lint each time. I'm not exaggerating. Literally filled up the vacuum-cleaner bag to overflowing with lint. But if that had been the whole problem, I would have kept it because I'm sure the lint would have died down. But the yarns making up the rug continued to come out - easily. You'd see a yarn sticking up and it would pull right out with no resistance at all. At that rate I was afraid I would have bald spots in no time. So, regretfully, I had to send it back. It's a shame because I haven'e found a rug I like as well color and design wise.

The rug itself is beautiful but buyer beware! I found small pieces of steel woven into the rug that stuck right through my foot like a tiny needle. I contacted Safavieh to let them know of my issue and they seemed uninterested. Not sure what practices are going on in the manufacturing process but I would think twice. Especially if you have young ones crawling around on the floor. Very disappointed.

This is a beautiful rug and it’s a great value for the money you pay. HOWEVER, it has a big pucker in the middle that prevents it from laying flat. I thought of sending it back but it’s such a hassle to do so. I’m hoping that it will flatten out as time goes on. Yes, it does shed but it’s because it’s wool and that’s normal. It does eventually stop the more you vacuum it. UPDATE: I’ve had this rug for a few months and there has been no change in the pucker that’s preventing it from laying flat. I’m disappointed and am looking to replace this rug.

Looking at this rug makes me happy. The colors are vibrant, and the blue is such a lovely shade, and quite different from the navy blue you typically see paired with red in rugs. I put it on a half inch felt pad, and you could probably sleep on it without a sleeping bag, it's so plush. It's near the woodstove, and is a popular gathering place for people and dogs! It does shed...a lot, but, all wool rugs do. Just expect to fill your vacuum tank every time. I'm hoping it lessens over time. Still, I'm exceedingly pleased with the quality. This company makes big tufted floor pillows. That's next on my wishlist. Then I may never get off of it!

The pattern is more folk art than Persian carpet pattern. This isn't bad if it's what you want, but it doesn't have the fine workmanship I was expecting since it was said to be handmade. Technically, it is because it's hand tufted, but if you look at the back, it's pretty much machine made except for the final step. If you want a finer, more detailed pattern, buy one that says hand knotted. On the other hand, if you have kids and a high traffic area, this will hold up and it is pretty. It just doesn't match my other rugs in the living room.

These rugs seldom disappoint once you find a pattern and color that works for you. They are handmade so pattern varies from what’s shown and colors in videos sometimes are far brighter then actual rug. View pictures of carpet corners included. I’ve found these to be best example of true color. Make no mistake, these are beautiful carpets. They will shed but I have a vacuum and much prefer receiving a thick, soft, shedding rug then a thin dull lackluster rug. I’ve had these in other homes and are putting them throughout my new home.

I was furnishing a new office and wanted something to brighten things up while making the space cozy. This rug is perfect! It's good quality and doesn't move around on the carpeted floor. The color looks like it does in the online picture and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. It does shed, so I do have to vacuum frequently, but that's to be expected with a wool rug. Hopefully, that will diminish over time.
