unusual design and looks great with my purple sofa and burgundy chairs - did not need a pad, ordered one but sent it back. I was hesitant if it was going to be "too much" . But it's great and everyone who walks in is very complementary - like "wow, that looks great". Don't know about cleaning yet as I just put it down this week. It's not super soft so I think it will hold up well. And for the money, it's a very good value ... show more

I received this rug yesterday, and placed it upside down to wait until the wrinkles smoothed out. In the meantime, my cat decided to sharpen her claws and pulled out these short yarn pieces from the rug. Now, I don’t know anything about the rug-making process, but I would have thought the yarn was in the rug a little more securely than that and it makes me wonder how long this rug will last. I’m also convinced that it is not at all worth the original price listed (around $500?) I will update this review after I flip the rug right side up. Right now to me it looks very pixelated, not hand-woven like the video included with the description shows. UPDATE: I was able to remove the wrinkles from the rug by sliding my dining room table across it numerous times (table turned upside down, of course). That worked perfectly, as this morning the wrinkles were all gone. However, now that it’s turned over I am truly very disappointed. It does not look like the photos included with the description, not at all. In the pictures provided, there seemed to be an interesting 3-D effect in the cream to pink areas, part of what made me choose this rug. Even when I took a picture of that area in person, I could see a 3D effect…(see the picture I’ve uploaded), but it doesn’t look that way in person. I bought the red/multi 6’7” x 9’ rectangular rug. I imagine the smaller sized-rug you get, the less obvious the pixels will be. Instead of clearly defined waves, there are so many different colors interspersed within each individual color that it just looks muddled. So if you really think you’ll like it, then maybe just buy two smaller ones and put them next to each other. Update: 18 July 22 I just uploaded a photo after noticing that the picture I took looks way better than the actual rug does in person. Who would’ve thought that pixels wouldn’t show up in pictures. ... show more
